Summary: We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel specializing in employment and industrial relations law to join our team. As the internal legal expert, you will lead domestic inquiries, advise on disciplinary actions and terminations, ensure compliance with Malaysia's Employment Act, and represent the company in labor-related disputes. With strong expertise in Malaysian labor law and excellent communication skills, you will provide strategic legal support to HR and management, ensuring a compliant and harmonious workplace. Conduct domestic inquiries in accordance with Malaysia's Employment Act and other relevant regulations. Advise on employment matters including disciplinary actions, termination procedures, and legal compliance. Handle negotiations and communications related to industrial relations matters with relevant stakeholders including employees, trade unions, and governmental bodies. Provide legal guidance and support to the HR department on employment contracts, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local laws. Research and stay updated on changes in Malaysia's employment laws and regulations to ensure the company's policies and practices remain current and compliant. Conduct training sessions for management and HR staff on employment law compliance and best practices.

Requirements

LLB or JD degree from a recognized institution, with admission to the Malaysian Bar. Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience practicing employment law in Malaysia, preferably with exposure to corporate environments. In-depth knowledge of Malaysia's Employment Act and other relevant labor laws and regulations. Proven experience in conducting domestic inquiries, handling termination procedures, and resolving industrial relations disputes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide practical legal advice in a corporate context. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality in handling sensitive employment matters.

Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM8,000.00 per month

Kuala Lumpur (50450): Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Preferred)
