About Our Client

Our client is Asia\'s leading healthcare services provider offering a broad range of innovative services including distribution of pharmaceutical products.

  • Overseeing legal matters for multi-jurisdictional clinical trials specialty logistics business with particular focus on:

  • providing advice on legal and compliance issues, regulatory updates etc
  • commercial contracts management including drafting, reviewing and negotiations with clients
  • commercial contracts management for vendor/supplier contracts
  • risk mitigation -e.g. enforcement of established procedures, formulating or updating systems and processes according to the Group\'s requirements and policies

Day-to-day responsibilities include:
  • Contracts management i.e.
  • reviewing and consulting with stakeholders on draft contracts, coordinating all internal responses and providing redline comments
  • Drafting, evaluating, negotiations and execution of contracts
  • Identify and escalate non-standard terms with stakeholders and Deputy GC, Clinical Reach & Singapore
  • Negotiating with counterparty and acting as liaison between internal stakeholders and clients/customers, ensuring timely review and approval / reconciliation of variations
  • Ensure compliance with the Group\'s policies
  • Managing timelines and priorities including monitoring and completing contracts closing, extensions or renewals
  • Managing, updating and providing training on contracting practices and procedures, including contracts management software
  • Preparing / maintaining and managing contractual records and documentation
  • Any other relevant duties and tasks as may be assigned from time to time
  • Legal Research / Advisory / Assistance with miscellaneous legal matters (local regulatory, employment, corp sec etc.) and projects (e.g. expansions, JVs, partnerships, digitization/ sustainability, process improvements etc)
  • Any other matters assigned from time to time

The Successful Applicant

  • 8 years\' PQE (at least 2 years with a top-tier law firm)
  • LLB (or equivalent) and called to the UK, Singapore or equivalent Bar
  • Commercial contracts experience
  • Experience in healthcare/logistics/distribution is preferred but not required
  • Corporate/company secretarial experience desirable but not required
  • Other complementary skills e.g. programming will be an advantage
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Fluency in Mandarin, Korean or other languages is an advantage but not required
  • Self-motivated, able to work on own with relatively little direct day-to-day supervision
  • Quiet confidence able to hold firm with both external clients and internal clients but without being abrasive or arrogant
  • Good commercial sense; pragmatic
  • Team player
  • Excellent people management skills, with the ability to collaborate with multiple business units in multiple countries to develop practical solutions
  • Demonstrates a proactive attitude towards improving work processes and systems
  • Strategic, analytical and adaptable - high degree of situational awareness, and able to work effectively within a very fast-paced, dynamic, and multi-cultural environment
  • Able to break down and explain complex legal issues to a layman and provide useful, practical advice.
