Bringing LEGO\xc2\xae models to life with light, sound, and movement is something our dedicated team of LEGO Designers, Builders, and Technicians do every day for LEGOLAND Parks, LEGOLAND Discovery Centers, and more across the world.

Our Merlin Magic Making (MMM) Studio in Malaysia is now looking for a highly organized and process driven LEGO Production Scenes and Stories Designer based at our MMM creative hub in Johor, Malaysia.

As a Scenes and Stories Designer, you will drive the crafting of imaginative and engaging LEGO brick build Stories. You will build environments, bringing characters and narratives to life through intricate designs. Your role involves conceptualisation and leading the captivating scenes that capture the essence of diverse stories, fostering creativity and engagement with the guest. Key objectives include:

• Lead story-led concepts through storyboard proposals and implement storytelling standards across MMM LEGO Production.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate narrative elements into tangible designs, maintaining consistency with LEGO brand guidelines and quality standards.

• Stay updated on emerging design techniques, LEGO elements and technologies to incorporate fresh and cutting-edge thinking into Storytelling.

• Efficiently manage project timelines and resources, delivering high-quality prototypes and final designs within specified deadlines.

• Foster a collaborative and creative work environment by sharing expertise, providing constructive feedback and contributing to the overall success of the LEGO design team. Ensuring storytelling is at the heart of all LEGO model designs.

• Co-create with the LEGO Group on projects to ensure a world class immersive experience.

• Conduct quality checks on design elements to ensure consistency and adherence to project standards.

About You...

• Comfortable presenting to a wide variety of people up to a Senior Level team.

• 3D Modeling, LDD, LBB, Photoshop, Illustrator.
• Expert storytelling experience.

• Ability to understand the LEGO brand and spot opportunities to embed humour into designs.

• Extensive knowledge of the LEGOLAND Parks and LDC brands with IP brand & LEGO Brand experience desirable.

• Extensive experience in building and designing LEGO models.

• Experience in creating scenes and stories to create a immersive experience.

• Excellent communicator coupled with excellent organisational skills and the ability to feedback and coach others effectively.

• Ability to work independently.
• Able to flex working arrangements to suit different time zones.

• Able to travel globally when required.
