Prepare and cook menu items following recipes and cafe standards.
Ensure food quality and presentation meet the cafe's expectations.
Handle food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces.
Follow food safety and hygiene regulations.
Order Coordination:
Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure orders are prepared accurately and served on time.
Monitor stock levels and communicate any shortages to the supervisor.
Assist in plating dishes in a visually appealing manner.
Dishwashing & Kitchen Cleanliness:
Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout the shift to maintain cleanliness.
Ensure the dishwashing area is clean and organized.
Assist with cleaning the kitchen, including sweeping, mopping floors, and sanitizing surfaces.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen before, during, and after service hours.
Stock & Inventory:
Assist in receiving, checking, and storing supplies and ingredients.
Perform regular stock counts and ensure ingredients are properly stored and labeled.
Help minimize food waste by using ingredients efficiently and managing stock rotation.
Adherence to Standards:
Follow the cafe's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for food preparation and safety.
Ensure all food is stored at the correct temperature and follow food handling procedures.
Collaboration with Team:
Work in a fast-paced environment alongside other kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
Communicate effectively with the Head of Kitchen Department regarding kitchen operations.
Participate in kitchen briefings and feedback sessions to continuously improve kitchen performance.
