The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring system stability, performance, and security, while supporting business operations and collaborating with cross-functional IT teams.
This role is hands-on and requires strong troubleshooting abilities, a solid understanding of system architecture, and a commitment to maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure IT environments.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain
Linux servers
(Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar distributions).
Manage
user accounts, permissions, and security policies
in Linux environments.
Perform
system monitoring, performance tuning, and log analysis
to ensure optimal uptime.
Implement and manage
backup, recovery, and disaster recovery
strategies.
Apply
patches, updates, and kernel upgrades
to maintain system security and compliance.
Automate system administration tasks using
Shell, Bash, or Python scripting
.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, OS, networking, and application dependencies.
Collaborate with network, database, and application teams to support infrastructure projects.
Maintain accurate
system documentation
, configurations, and operational procedures.
Participate in
on-call rotation
for production support and incident response.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Minimum
3-5 years of experience
as a Linux System Administrator or in a similar role.
Strong hands-on experience with
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
or other major distributions.
Proficiency in
shell scripting
(Bash, Python, or Perl).
Experience with
system monitoring tools
(Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
Familiarity with
, including firewalls, SELinux, and system hardening.
Experience with
configuration management tools
(Ansible, Puppet, or Chef) is an advantage.
Relevant certifications such as
RHCSA, RHCE, or CompTIA Linux+
preferred.
