This role involves close collaboration with infrastructure, network, and DevOps teams to ensure system reliability, security, and high availability.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and maintain
Linux servers and infrastructure
across production and development environments.
Implement and support
high availability, redundancy, and scalability
for critical systems.
Manage
system performance tuning, capacity planning, and health monitoring
.
Automate system deployment and maintenance tasks using
Ansible, Terraform, or Bash/Python scripting
.
Perform
patching, upgrades, and kernel maintenance
while minimizing downtime.
Troubleshoot complex
system, network, and application-level issues
in collaboration with other technical teams.
Implement and enforce
security hardening, access control, and compliance standards
.
Manage
backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR)
strategies.
Integrate Linux systems with
cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
.
Maintain detailed
system documentation
, including architecture diagrams and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Minimum
5+ years of experience
working as a Linux System Administrator or Linux Engineer.
Proficiency in
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, Ubuntu
, or similar distributions.
Strong knowledge of
shell scripting (Bash, Python, or Perl)
for automation and system management.
Experience with
virtualization (VMware, KVM)
and
containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
.
Familiarity with
configuration management tools
(Ansible, Puppet, or Chef).
Experience with
cloud infrastructure
and hybrid environments (AWS EC2, Azure VM, GCP Compute Engine).
Solid understanding of
(Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, or similar).
Knowledge of
security and compliance standards
(e.g., ISO 27001, CIS Benchmarks).
Relevant certifications such as
RHCE, RHCSA, or Linux Foundation Certified Engineer (LFCE)
