Requirements
Possess a valid commercial driving license (e.g., GDL) and a clean driving record with no recent traffic violations.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Lorry Driver, preferably with experience in transporting building materials or similar heavy goods.
Proficient in performing routine vehicle maintenance checks, including inspecting tires, lights, brakes, and fluid levels, and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
Thorough understanding of safety regulations and procedures related to the transportation of goods, including proper loading and securing techniques to prevent damage or accidents.
Ability to plan efficient delivery routes, considering traffic conditions, road restrictions, and delivery schedules, to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers during deliveries and address any concerns or inquiries professionally.
Fluency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia to facilitate effective communication with dispatchers, customers, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain lorry vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
Transport building materials and solutions to designated locations, ensuring timely and secure delivery.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the lorry, reporting any maintenance issues or mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
Plan and optimize delivery routes to minimize travel time and fuel consumption, utilizing route planning software and tools.
Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of materials to prevent damage during transit.
Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption, submitting reports as required.
Comply with all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, vehicle maintenance, and customer service.
