The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all maintenance activities within a manufacturing facility to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support production efficiency. This includes leading a team of maintenance technicians, planning preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the maintenance team in the daily operation, repair, and preventive maintenance of production machinery, equipment, and facility infrastructure.
Develop, implement, and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize machine uptime and reduce unplanned outages.
Coordinate with production supervisors and engineers to prioritize maintenance work and support continuous improvement projects.
Monitor and manage the maintenance budget, including labor, spare parts inventory, and capital projects.
Maintain compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements, ensuring a safe working environment.
Manage vendor and contractor relationships for specialized services, parts, and equipment.
Train, mentor, and evaluate maintenance personnel, promoting skill development and safety awareness.
Analyze equipment performance data to identify recurring issues and implement long-term corrective actions.
Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering preferred; technical diploma with significant experience may be acceptable.
Experience:
5+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment such as crane, chiller, etc.
Solid understanding of industrial safety regulations and compliance standards.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, TPM, OEE).
Experience with PLCs and automated control systems.
Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SysPro, SAP, Oracle) for maintenance and inventory integration.
