What is the opportunity?

RBC Investor & Treasury Services Malaysia is a processing center of operational excellence supporting 10 countries across three geographical time zones. Malaysia is one of two operational processing hubs that supports Custody - Transaction Management; Settlements; NAV Production; Fund Reporting; Shareholder Services; Global Fund Platform Services; Data Service Delivery; Entitlements \xe2\x80\x93 income and corporate actions and Reconciliations. The country employs a Global Operating Model to maximise efficiencies across times zones and supports a 24/5 operational capability. The objectives for Malaysia are to enhance the scalability of our global operations, improve service quality via our \xe2\x80\x98centres of excellence\xe2\x80\x99 and to implement/leverage standard processes globally.

As a Manager, Control Assurance, you will act as a business expert to SHS departments. They will be to manage and implement a wide range of tasks, including technical support, process improvements, global and local projects, testing and designing. Candidate is also responsible for reviewing and challenging the risk and control framework and must also ensure delivery versus timelines and that the company governance frameworks are adhered to.

Control Assurance candidate also to manage and motivate the team to produce consistently high quality on Transfer Agency activity Processing and work in hand with the operation team regularly exceed required Service Level Agreement & KPI/KQI targets and Continue to develop skills & abilities individually and for direct reports (If any).

What will you do?

Ensures compliance with corporate and regulatory policies by implementing and monitoring operational processes.

Exercises authority over personnel with respect to employment, supervision, training, performance appraisals, and termination.

Develops strategic plans and procedures for managing investment risk in financial transactions.

Provides leadership, coaching, and process improvement initiatives to improve the operational efficiency of a given investment unit.

Through participation in working groups and other forums, support the shared objectives of Client Operations, Malaysia

Risk & Control Governance BAU (Control testing) & Documentation (Procedure & RCSA)

Change & Enhancement Requests, BRD review and analysis, Test phase preparation , Project Implementation Support & Post Implementation Review

BAU processing in term of Validation & ControlNet effectiveness monitoring

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Post-secondary education with an accounting/finance concentration or equivalent.

Typically 5 \xe2\x80\x93 8 years of related experiences in the Financial industry with good business acumen, in which includes sound technical knowledge/experience in the Securities Services industry which typically encompass the Custody, Transfer Agency and etc.

Experienced in managing project implementation and understanding the natural progression of a project (from Planning to Implementation).

Experienced in implementing change management strategies and knowledge of change management principles would be advantages.

Experience in managing a small team will be an advantage.

Sound planning and organization, management skills

Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.

Solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process.

Confidence handling of Change management.

Adaptability and flexibility to manage ambiguity.

People (direct report if any) & Stakeholder Management.

Nice-to-have

Good networking and client relationship.

Computer literacy.

Independent, confident, self-motivated, pro-active and mature;

Willing to take on new challenges and work under pressure.

Macro / VBA / Coding skills will be an advantage.

Change Management certification or designation is desired.

Solid knowledge of Project Management or PMP certified is an advantage.

Accredited in Lean, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodology will be an added advantage.
