Objectives of the Position

• This is one of the 4 customs positions currently in Hong Kong and to be moved to hub in Kuala Lumpur.
• The Customs Functional & Process Design Specialist coordinate business requirements in Customs & Foreign Trade for the corresponding region in close cooperation with Customs Operations and Information Services (IT/IS). In this role it is important to design and implement IS tools and systems based on requirements for Customs & Foreign Trade Operations and ensure customs compliance in process design.

Main Tasks

Customs Ops IS support and design

• Design Transactional processes to support any form of savings including duty savings for BASF Group and ensure implementation of necessary related IS solutions
• Propose and Optimize the Export and Imports customs declaration process with regards to IS solutions
• Manage and coordinate Change Request from SC Operations and Business units related to Customs & Foreign Trade topics
• Support any BASF strategic initiatives, including UAT, IS solution, processes definition to ensure smooth implementation in the area of Customs & Foreign Trade

Customs Ops BEX role and support

• Coordinate and support the implementation of the regional BEX community for Customs & Foreign Trade
• Proactively engages BEX communities to ensure rollout of globally or regionally defined processes
• Conducts regional knowledge transfer for BEX communities during the Business Releases

Cross functional support and governance

• Bundle Expert knowledge and foster cross regional cooperation in Customs & Foreign Trade activities in Supply Chain Operations
• Capture and structure all regional operational requirements regarding IS tools and applications, responsible in validating and requesting for projects
• Safeguard implementation of customs & Foreign Trade regulations into operational IS applications

Requirements

• Bachelor\'s degree (or equivalent)
• 3-5 years working experience in customs and foreign trade with a company, preferably with international operations
• Experience in Supply chain and/or Export/Import
• Experience in deploying IT solutions and processes related to customs & foreign trade
• Experience in SAP is a plus, esp GTS and master data
• Experience in project management is desirable
• Experience in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) related work is a plus
• Experience in developing and delivery of training
• Good Customs and Foreign Trade knowledge
• Good Supply Chain Operations knowledge
• Good knowledge in Export/Import Operations
• Business Application Knowledge (e.g. SAP in OTC Functions)
