We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our Wealth and Personal Banking team in the role of Manager - Data Refinery and Visualisations working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets. Role Purpose: The job holder develops develop the \xe2\x80\x9cdata refinery\xe2\x80\x9d which is the data component on Google Cloud platform as well lead Data Visualisation. The job holder is the product owner for the data refinery and therefore has responsibility for its development and deployment from a Malaysia business perspective. The role holder is also responsible for developing interactive reports and dashboards. Principal Responsibilities:

  • The job holder will play a key part of thought leadership in the data space, particularly in the space of data management, e.g. smart ways to acquire, integrate, catalogue, secure and store data.
  • The job holder\xe2\x80\x99s primary purpose is to own the Data Refinery capabilities within the Google Cloud. This includes working with IT to engineer the Data Refinery capabilities to improve functionality for users and developing data pipelines based on business requirements
  • Architect data visualisation & business intelligence solutions for HSBC Malaysia that promotes access to data in a self-service model
  • Own and lead data refinery & management projects; data pipelines delivery with reliable, efficient, testable, & maintainable artifacts, involves ingest & process data from a large number and variety of data sources
  • Design and build scalable Data APIs to host Operational data and Data-Lake assert in Data-Mesh / Data Fabric Architecture
  • Drive Modern Data Platform operations using Data Ops, ensure data quality, monitoring the data system. Also support Data science MLOps platform
  • Drive and deliver industry standard Devops (CI/CD) best practices, automate development and release management
  • Support and contribute to data engineering product and data pipeline documentations, development guidelines & standards for data-pipeline, data model and layer design
  • Lead enterprise-wide data visualization technical oversight and mentorship for geographically dispersed colleagues and contracted team members

Requirements

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing and building data products and pipelines using some of the most scalable and resilient open-source big data technologies; Spark, Delta-Lake, Kafka, Flink, Airflow, Presto and related distributed data processing
  • At least 5 years of experience with BI and data visualization development and/or platform management
  • Hands-on experience in Qlik, Google Looker or other equivalent Data Visualisations tools
  • Build and deploy high performance modern data engineering & automation frameworks using programming languages such as Scala/Python and automate the big data workflows such as ingestion, aggregation, ETL processing etc
  • Good understanding of data modeling and high-end design, data engineering / software engineering best practices - include handling and logging errors, monitoring the system, fault-tolerant pipelines, data quality and ensuring a deterministic pipeline with DataOps
  • Excellent experience in using SQL for relational databases like \xe2\x80\x93 Postgres, MySql, Oracle or SAS and knowledge of Advanced SQL on distributed analytics engines \xe2\x80\x93 Databricks SQL, Snowflake, etc
  • Proficiency programming languages like Scala, Python, Java, Go, Rust or scripting languages like Bash
  • Mandatory Experience on cloud systems like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience on Event Streaming Platform, Message Queues like Kafka, Pulsar, Rabbit-MQ, Redis-MQ
  • Event Processing systems \xe2\x80\x93 Kafka Streaming, KSQL, Spark Streaming, Apache Flink, Apache Beam etc.
  • Experience with GIT (preferably bitbucket), Python (mainly Pandas), SQL, ETL processes, data visualization tools (Qlik / equivalent) , CI / CD (Jenkins)
