You will be responsible for all Accounting, Financial and Tax functions as well as being a pro-active Finance business partner.

Candidate requirements

  • To handle full set accounts, day to day financial operations and perform reconciliations independently under minimum supervision. Ensuring month end closing is being performed within the stipulated date.
  • In charge of all monthly financial and management reports (including weekly flash reports, monthly updates, etc.)
  • Responsible for the company budget, forecast, monthly financial report, internal and external reporting and analysis
  • Coordinate and engage with external auditor to ensure proper accounting practices and year-end audits
  • Accounting system implementation and enhancement of work processes
  • Manage local tax reporting (review of current tax and deferred tax computation, tax estimates and tax returns submission) to ensure compliance with local statutory requirements
  • Liaise with auditor, bankers, tax agent, company secretary and other statutory compliance
  • Work closely with the GM/MD Malaysia and other commercial and operations management in the region to support and challenge financial performance.
  • Ensure that the GM/MD Malaysia and other commercial and operational management are provided with good quality and prompt financial information to manage the business effectively.
  • Work closely with commercial and operations management to identify and respond to business opportunities and risks.
  • Maintain open and proactive dialogue with the Group\'s central finance and other functional teams to ensure that the financial aspects of significant opportunities and risks, the resulting actions and any material financial issues in the region are communicated and understood.
  • Ensure that proposals for contracts, commitments, business development and other potential transactions for further senior management review are prepared with due care and sufficient challenge.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions and commitments in the region are approved in accordance with the Group\'s delegated authorities.
  • Ensure that all financial reporting is submitted to the Group\'s central finance team accurately and in accordance with required deadlines.
  • Ensure that financial operations in the region are cost effective, adequately resourced and meet the standards required by relevant regulations and the Group Finance Manual.
  • Ensure that required financial controls across the region are in operation and are documented appropriately, and any not in place are resolved promptly.
  • Ensure that all items identified for resolution by external and internal audit reviews of entities in the region are addressed promptly.
  • Ensure that any changes in company legal or ownership structure in the region are understood and approved in advance in accordance with the Group Finance Manual.
  • Ensure that all significant tax, treasury and legal issues in the region are communicated with Group\'s central functions and agreed actions implemented.

  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
  • Right to work in Malaysia
  • Degree and/or designation in Accounting
  • Prior relevant experience in audit, financial analysis or accounting field
  • Highly motivated, a self-starter, and a \'can-do\' attitude
  • Highly committed
  • Hands-on, organized, self driven and detailed oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft office such as Excel and Word
  • Fluent in English (verbal/written)
