ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all activities related to General Ledger and Tax functions for Malaysia and Singapore, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely month and year-end processes.
  • Analyze accounting data, prepare financial reports/statements, and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including month-end and year-end processes, coordinate annual audits, and ensure tax compliance.
  • Assist in company budgeting exercises and continuously enhance systems, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Provide financial guidance to other departments, conduct risk management, and review accounting practices.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, stakeholders, banks, government institutions, tax agents, and service providers to maintain compliance with legislation.
  • Stay updated on financial legislation and ensure legal compliance of financial transactions.
  • Liaise with tax agents for Income tax submission and compliance, possess knowledge of SST Malaysia and withholding tax.
  • Undertake additional tasks assigned by the Senior Finance Manager as required.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES
  • Graduate level of intellect, preferably with a higher degree in Finance or Accountancy.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting and tax positions, including 3 years in a supervisory role within a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and procedures.
  • Strong leadership skills to influence cross-functional teams and senior business leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as financial software.
  • Strong multitasking, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, remain composed under stress, and adapt quickly.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, analytical, and strategic thinker.
  • Ability to work independently, flexible, possess a positive attitude, and excel in a team environment.
  • Required language(s): English & Bahasa Malaysia.
