Job Description


Work in partnership with senior finance and business stakeholders to track the company\'s performance against set target and achievement of strategic objectives whilst delivering high value insights, analysis, and commentary. This includes driving the planning, budgeting and forecasting process and defining data and information required for both P&L and Balance Sheet and Cash Flow. Acts as a liaison between the business and Finance department. This role will report to Senior Manager, Commercial Control.Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the delivery of the Company\'s Annual and Long Term Budget, Estimate and Outlook process and support the development of strategic plans for the full financial statements (P&L, BS, ACF). This includes coordinating and liaising with local business and regional teams to ensure timelines are met, consolidating, reviewing, and delivery of Budgets and Estimates to Local and Regional Leadership teams.
  • Continually develop and pursue best practices, including the management of financial management systems to improve accuracy, speed, and effectiveness of the planning process.
  • Lead ad hoc financial analyses in order to assist management in the evaluation of the profitability of income as well as the potential for cost efficiencies. He or she further provides advice to other departments within the business on financially related issues.
  • Augment data with business insights to identify opportunities that can help drive the top line growth and/or cost reduction.
  • Support the monthly performance report (MPR) preparation, lead by Financial Controller,
  • Expense management, reporting and analysis, including active and proactive monitoring of expenses against set plans and forecasts for Corporate Overheads functions
  • Champion and lead the OCM costs review process
Requirements:
  • A university degree or professional qualification in Accounting or Finance with membership with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) or any other globally recognized accounting professional bodies such as ICAEW, ACCA, Aust CPA, CIMA
  • Minimum 5-6 years of audit and commercial finance covering area of planning, budgeting and forecasting experience from similar role(s) in a global organization in a progressively growing leadership capacity
  • Proficient in spreadsheet designs for analysis and experience from working with Business Intelligence and in developing financial modelling and business cases.
  • Excellent command of English in written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial information and analysis to various audiences in a manner that ensures their understanding
  • Ability to determine the most appropriate course of action to reach a decision in a timely manner using available data and engaging appropriate experts and leaders when necessary and able to demonstrate credibility to lead and challenge the business
  • Previous experience in a similar role that requires strong understanding of financial controls, accounting, reporting and business partnering. Preferably experience from a MNC company owning the full value chain or Public Listed Company (PLC) and familiar with the regulations and reporting requirements of a PLC.
  • Experience in using SAP, Power BI, Planning tool such as Anaplan
  • Experience from FMCG industry is an advantage, but not a must
  • Ability to handle critical situations and act decisively. Able to lead projects and motivate people & cross functional teams
  • Ability to build network and communicate with employees of all levels across all department.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging work environment, whilst balances multiple tasks and applying high levels of attention to detail.
  • Strong excel, PowerPoint and think-cell skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills.
  • Good team building skills and ability to interfaces with wide array of individuals across the company, and maintains positive attitude and energy.
  • Personal drive to achieve results.
