Objectives of the Position

• 
  Manage Product Safety Services sub-teams and conduct operation tasks
• Establish work process and communication process for Product Safety Services sub-teams operation tasks. This includes alignment and development of work processes with key stake holders such as global product safety/ trade control team, countries, BU and supply chain to ensure the compliance of regulations
• Establish operation procedures and direct the implementation
• Establish KPI and monitoring system to track status

• 
  As Manager with expertise on BASF Product Safety compliance framework, to ensure trade control, chemical regulation and product safety related activities compliance for BASF companies. Lead and coordinate operation excellence activities and initiatives in the platform.
• Support BASF operations in the countries to be in compliance with global and local Chemical Regulation and BASF requirements, and act as governess function.
• Manages Asia Pacific chemical regulations Product Safety Service team.
• The Product Safety manages compliance activities of business and legal criticality. This includes set up of classification for controlled products based on accurate understanding of global and local Chemical Regulations, obtain legal license/document and release blockages upon validation.
• Manages other legally required tasks including MSDS, label etc
• Act as competency center in Chemical Regulations and Trade Control in the region.
• Align and develop role and responsibility, work and communication process between team and key stake holders, including Global Product Safety /Trade Control team, country management, BU management and other functions eg supply chain, procurement, etc.
• Align KPI with key stake holders and rigorously track KPI, ensure the delivery of the support

• 
  University degree, Master/ PhD degree in scientific area, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Be result oriented
• Sound knowledge in Chemistry and regulations
• Good understanding on global and local chemical legislation system, master data system, supply chain processes and business processes of BASF
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Proactive and be able to work under pressure and independently
• Proficient in MS Office and SAP
