Global Service & Parts (GSP) is responsible for the worldwide Service & Parts business of the Mercedes-Benz Group.

The newly established entity, Mercedes-Benz Parts Logistics Asia Pacific, will be part of the global Mercedes-Benz Group After-Sales supply chain network, covering the regional distribution hub, regional Asia Pacific functions and the center of competence supply chain steering Asia Pacific. The future Regional Logistics Centre is currently under construction and will start operations in 2023. The future Regional Logistics Centre (RLC) in Senai (Johor Bahru) will be a key facility in the global GSP Parts Logistics Network and will serve as a distribution site for spare parts to 24 countries in the Asia Pacific region. It will take care of the importation, the storage as well as the regional management of spare part and accessories distribution.

Your tasks & responsibilities:

Sourcing and Execution:

  • Initiate, develop and lead sourcing strategies for high spend and critical commodities and identify cost saving potentials.`
  • Lead the procurement process and negotiations, from tendering to contracting whilst maintaining a good record trail of transactions.
  • Supplier selection and performance management, coordination of supply and quality issues.
Supplier Management:
  • Design, promote, and implement supplier management strategies, directions and plans
  • Conduct assessment of supplier performance against agreed KPI
  • Manage and drive initiatives to promote supplier innovation and process improvements.
  • Identify and develop new suppliers and implement supplier management strategies
  • Ensure IPS supplier minimum requirements and Mercedes-Benz standards on compliance, integrity and sustainability are adhered to.
Contract Management:
  • Negotiate and execute Long-Term Agreements and/or Full-Service Supplier Contracts, where appropriate, for assigned commodities.
  • Interface between supplier and appropriate internal departments such as business unit, Legal, Accounting, Controlling, Tax
Stakeholder Management:
  • Lead annual buys planning, joint supplier selection discussions and system related topics with business unit.
Sourcing Compliance:
  • Ensure all sourcing arrangements are fully compliant to the existing policy, process instruction and the relevant guidelines.
  • Ensure that all compliant requirements are met in areas of Supplier Due Diligence, Financial Risk Management
  • Maintenance and implementation of internal control of ICS
Management Reporting:
  • Conduct spend analysis, cost models and metrics by supplier and commodity as well as IPS capacity planning and savings achievement.
  • Develop process improvement initiatives and execution plan
  • Manage IPS capacity planning and savings achievement.
Managing Team/Coaching:
  • Managing team members to achieve departmental targets.
  • Lead, support and develop team members through coaching and fostering strong communication to ensure motivational level is maintained at all times.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in supply chain, business administration, engineering, or related discipline.
  • At least 5-7 years experience in procurement/supply chain environment with good knowledge of automotive business and supplier base.
  • Comprehensive understanding of procurement principles, procedures, and processes.
  • Knowledge of Logistics Commodity sourcing will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skill in English.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and contract management knowledge.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across multiple business areas, including in-depth knowledge in category strategy development and implementation.
  • Sound understanding of market conditions, dynamics and economic environment with strong business acumen.
  • Proactive, accountable, organized, detail oriented, self-driven and a good team player.
  • Computer Literacy e.g.,MS office and other applications. Having knowledge of SAP or Purchase2Pay system is a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize urgent tasks, with good time management skills.
  • Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and Strategic Sourcing Methodology is a plus.
