Overview:
Our client is a leading manufacturer specializing in the production of manganese alloys and ferrosilicon. They are currently seeking a highly skilled Manager, Maintenance Technical Support to fill the role of Department Head for Maintenance. This position will oversee a team of engineers and technicians responsible for ensuring optimal equipment performance and plant profitabilityLocation to work: Bintulu, SarawakJob Responsibilities: -

• This role is the department head who leads a team of engineers and skilled technicians to oversee and manage all equipment and maintenance issues in the production plant.
• Overall responsible for profitability of the plant by maximizing the plant availability through efficient and cost-effective maintenance programs
• Supervise the team and work closely with mechanical, electrical, instrument and production managers to co-ordinate plant and equipment shutdowns/ failure
• Lead a team of technical experts to ensure equipment are operated per standard safety procedures
• Ensure maintenance schedules are carried out to recognized standards and safety procedures
• Ensure electrical distribution system is maintained and operated per international safety standard
• Plan spare parts utilization and procurements
• Report to management team for any defects, equipment failure and respective preventive plans
• Manage outside contractors for repair and maintenance services
• Manage team budget and efficiency allocation of resources

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) are advantage
• Proven experience minimum 5 years and above in a maintenance management role within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Extensive experience in leading and managing teams of engineers and technicians.
• Deep knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting to the management team andcoordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
