Job Description

We are looking for a Merchant & Compliance Operations Manager to oversee merchant onboarding, relationship management, and compliance operations. This role bridges merchants, internal finance/ops, and regulatory requirements to ensure smooth, compliant, and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:



Merchant Management



Manage the end-to-end merchant lifecycle: onboarding, KYC coordination, training, and support. Negotiate MDR (merchant discount rate) and ensure agreements are compliant before sign-off. Act as primary liaison for merchants, maintaining strong, trust-based relationships. Handle merchant issues including refunds, disputes, and rate clarifications

Compliance & Operations



Ensure compliance with internal and external requirements, maintaining SOPs and audit readiness. Prepare and submit required operational and compliance reports accurately and on time. Work closely with finance on reconciliation and settlement issues (e.g., T+1 settlement complaints). Support internal and external user access provisioning (merchants, staff). Conduct duties as assigned by the Head of Department.

Cross-Department Liaison



Coordinate with finance, compliance, and marketing teams to resolve merchant or operational issues. Escalate and follow through on compliance or operational queries with the relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:



3-5 years experience in operations, compliance, or merchant management (preferably in fintech, payments, or financial services). Strong knowledge of MDR, merchant onboarding, and settlement processes. Familiarity with compliance practices, audits, and regulatory frameworks. Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills. Excellent communication and negotiation skills for both internal and external stakeholders. Ability to work independently and maintain process discipline.

Nice-to-Haves:



Prior experience handling financial or regulatory audits. Understanding of payment systems, settlement cycles, and reconciliation processes. Experience in fintech/startup environments where multitasking is required.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
