Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, operational, credit, pension, insurance, compliance, regulatory, market, reputation and geopolitical risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of Manager Portfolio Risk Management (Unsecured).

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing, review and implementation of policies related to retail unsecured risk (Cards, Personal Loan, Overdraft)
  • Assist in reviews and designs of new initiatives and projects
  • Assist to perform/ conduct periodic reviews of product and policy programs
  • Assist in Risk Mitigation programs renewal and reviews
  • Leveraging on MIS, reporting tools and excel skill set, to assist in MIS analysis and early warning triggers in ensuring credit quality
  • Support and protect the portfolio quality of unsecured portfolio against agreed set KPIs by conducting periodic portfolio review
  • Analytics support in internal and external audit deliverables and reviews
  • Support in systems automation and implementation of policies/ strategies (credit origination, decision engine and TRIAD)
  • Ensure maximum effectiveness of the risk management functions
Requirements

Requirement:
  • Minimum with Degree qualification and with at least five years of banking experience.
  • Retail banking experience are required (solid knowledge in credit cycle).
  • Sound experience in local regulations and guidelines related to unsecured products.
  • Detailed understanding of end to end credit cycle and appreciation of credit risk issues throughout the portfolio lifecycle, to include: application risk assessment; risk-based portfolio management techniques; and managing the interface between credit risk and fraud;
  • Excel proficiency, SAS, Qlikview and experience in machine learning (e.g. Python) will be an advantage.
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to interact with all stakeholders in the Bank, with capability to interpret complex regulatory and business requirements, and translate these requirements for execution and implementation.
  • Analytical and high aptitude towards agility and transformation.
  • Aptitude for technical/system related work will be an added advantage.
