As part of Global Markets Credit Risk & Risk Control team, you will be managing risk-taking activities in Global Markets and involve in fast-changing environment of domestic and global Financial Markets from the counterparty credit risk and traded market risk perspective. You need to associate macroeconomics well with financial markets and ensure effective risk surveillance and reporting on risk-taking activities in Global Markets on a timely basis. Your contributions as internal risk control and compliance function are essential and critical which is part of the second line of defence to ensure significant risks are effectively managed through active prevention and controls put in place.

Functional

Lead and direct the Global Markets Credit Risk and Risk Control teams. Responsible for independent monitoring key risks of counterparty credit and market risk, and check compliance with both internal polices/procedures as well as regulatory guidelines, as well as take prompt action to address non-compliance. Ensure timeliness on credit counterparty risk reporting of market risk to stakeholders and management on periodic basis.

Formulate and constructive review of risk policies and SOPs to ensure all activities in Global markets are in conformity with market best practices and compliance requirements.

Perform stress test and reverse stress test on credit counterparty & issuer and market risks to measure loss vulnerability of Global Markets portfolios under stressed market conditions.

Carry out backtesting on VaR model in MUREX and continuous enhancement of VaR for risk measurement, reporting and regulatory purposes. Any model shortcomings identified/reasons determined for the exceptions and results to be tabled to the Chief Risk Officer.

Perform independent validation of models used in the pricing and risk measurement of Treasury instruments for Global Markets.

Spearhead the counterparty credit and market risk surveillance controls and compliance in infrastructure facilitation and improvement. Handle new enhancements on limits monitoring and risk surveillance through further automation and more comprehensive analysis which need to be built, tested and implemented in the current MUREX/MLC system, including the new requirements as per market development, new product development and new/changes in the internal guidelines and policies as well as regulators requirements.

Managerial

Ability to interact, engage, support and inspire team members through effective communication in meeting expectations and standards.

Familiarity of new market developments, new financial products and new/changes in internal guidelines and policies as well as regulators requirements.

Strong communication and presentation skills to liaise, collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Organizational

As key Person-in-charge (PIC) in the second line of defence to supports Management to help ensure risk and controls are effectively managed on risk-taking activities in Global Markets.

To carry out any other duties as directed by Head, Global Markets Risk and CRO, Group Risk Management.
