Job Overview

TE Connectivity\'s Manufacturing Engineering Teams are process leaders for stamping, molding or assembly related topics, ensuring the processes are running at optimum levels for quality and output. They are experts in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly techniques, possessing extensive knowledge of the associated manufacturing processes which may include the optimization and standardization of stamping / molding / assembly or other processes within the manufacturing environment. Manufacturing Engineering Teams enable the TE business unit plants to reach TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, roll out Centers of Excellence (COE), Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP\'s) and advise plants on tool and machine duplications / corrections / improvements. They design and develop manufacturing process and automation platforms and apply them for the realization of new product developments as well as optimization of existing products already in production. The Teams also support Product Development in the selection and optimization of tools for piece part production and the selection of the most suitable manufacturing concepts relative to planned manufacturing quantities, quality requirements and manufacturing location. They act as interface between engineering and production to ensure manufacturability of new designs and smooth production ramp up as well as support the research & development teams to produce sample manufacturing equipment, product samples and prototypes.

Responsible for, but not limited to, performing the manufacturing engineering tasks necessary to efficiently manufacture quality products and maximize productivity through the creation or enhancement of equipment or processes to ensure total customer satisfaction. Manufacturing engineers direct and coordinate the processes for making things - from the beginning to the end. As businesses try to make products better and at less cost, it turns to manufacturing engineers to find out how. Manufacturing engineers work with all aspects of manufacturing from production control to materials handling to automation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve all existing equipment, processes, and designs as required
  • Create manufacturing documentation to support existing processes and equipment in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements
  • Train the engineering technicians, engineering operators, production trainers, production operators, and other manufacturing personnel on the production floor on new processes or equipment.
  • Design and implement processes, equipment, and engineering documentation such as SOP, WI, Process Flow, Control Plan, and PFMEA for all new projects
  • Design process, fixtures, and automation
  • Support production and development of new products through independent review, root cause analysis, corrective action, discrepancy handling, and defect prevention
  • Conduct process capability studies, design experiments, conduct studies and analyze to ensure products meet requirements
  • Participate in cost reduction and cost-of-quality programs
  • Assist maintenance in troubleshooting and repair of equipment
  • Assist Design Engineering with the prototyping of new or modified products
  • Assist the QA team with failure analysis and test
  • Assist team with product mechanical test
  • Responsible for Process Improvement, SGA, TEOA Kaizen, OMP and VAVE
  • Responsible to lead the transfer projects and chair the meeting
  • Responsible to lead the product sample build
  • Responsible for the product ICC (Internal Cost Calculation)
  • Responsible for the production of COPQ (Cost Of Poor Quality)
  • Responsible for the production of FPY (First Pass Yield)
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor\'s degree in an engineering field.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience
  • Computer skills such as Microsoft Office and relational database.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups
  • Ability to work well in a Team environment
  • Ability to work with management to establish project Milestones, but otherwise executes project plan with little supervision required.
  • Ability to work toward defined objectives with little direct supervision
  • Demonstrated understanding of new product development processes and workflow
  • Demonstrated experience in participating in multi-disciplinary product development teams
  • Detailed knowledge of at least one SBU product line, with general knowledge of related or other SBU product lines
  • Good soldering skills with IPC standards will be an advantage
  • Good knowledge of a particular technical area within the job responsibility
  • Works well in a Team environment and guides the team as the \xe2\x80\x9cexpert\xe2\x80\x9d in a particular field
  • With automation knowledge will be an advantage
  • With plastic injection molding knowledge will be an advantage
