SUMMARY
The ME/IE Manager is the \xe2\x80\x9csite technology leader\xe2\x80\x9d of Jabil\xe2\x80\x99s manufacturing processes and systems, which is designed to deliver superior performance and operational efficiency. The ME/IE Manager supports Operation\xe2\x80\x99s business development effort with current and potential customers, and development / implementation of both site a global ME/IE strategies. Responsible for the establishment of optional manufacturing methods and processes for the organization\xe2\x80\x99s production lines. Lead and motivate a large group of Engineers whose primary responsibility is to define and implement complete manufacturing processes. Provides ongoing review of the effective utilization of equipment, production methods, equipment layout, personnel, and material flow. Provide exceptional support to customers, team members, and shareholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment and Retention:
\xc2\xb7 Recruit, interview and hire Industrial Engineers, Process, Manufacturing and Project Engineers.
\xc2\xb7 Communicate criteria to recruiters for Industrial Engineers, Process, Manufacturing and Project Engineer position candidates.
\xc2\xb7 Coach Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing and Process Engineering staff in the interviewing/hiring process.
\xc2\xb7 Monitor team member turnover; identify key factors that can be improved; make improvements.

Employee and Team Development:
\xc2\xb7 Identify individual and team strengths and development needs on an ongoing basis.
\xc2\xb7 Create and/or validate training curriculum in area of responsibility.
\xc2\xb7 Coach and mentor Industrial Engineering staff to deliver excellence to every internal and external customer.
\xc2\xb7 Create and manage succession plans for Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering function.

Performance Management:
\xc2\xb7 Establish clear measurable goals and objectives by which to determine individual and team results (i.e. operational metrics, results against project timelines, training documentation, attendance records, knowledge of operational roles and responsibilities, personal development goals).
\xc2\xb7 Solicit ongoing feedback from Workcell Manager (WCM), Business Unit Manager (BUM), peers and team member on team member\xe2\x80\x99s contribution to the Workcell team. Provide coaching and counseling to team member based on feedback.
\xc2\xb7 Express pride in staff and encourage them to feel good about their accomplishments.
\xc2\xb7 Perform team member evaluations professionally and on time.
\xc2\xb7 Drive individuals and the team to continuously improve in key operational metrics and the achievement of the organizational goals.
\xc2\xb7 Coordinate activities of large teams and keep them focused in times of crises.
\xc2\xb7 Ensure recognition and rewards are managed fairly and consistently in area of responsibility.

Communication
\xc2\xb7 Provide communication forum for the exchange of ideas and information with the department.
\xc2\xb7 Organize verbal and written ideas clearly and use an appropriate business style.
\xc2\xb7 Ask questions; encourage input from team members
\xc2\xb7 Assess communication style of individual team members and adapt own communication style accordingly.

FUNCTIONAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Strategy and Direction:
\xc2\xb7 Know and understand Corporate, Campus and Global PE, IE, & ME tactical and strategic direction.
\xc2\xb7 Define, develop and implement a Process Engineering & Industrial Engineering strategy which contributes to the campus strategic directions.
\xc2\xb7 Develop an understanding of the Workcell business strategy as it pertains to Industrial & Process Engineering.
\xc2\xb7 Provide regular updates to BUM, WCM, and Operations Manager on the execution of the strategy.
\xc2\xb7 Manage technical support globally to sustain Corporate Intranet Site worldwide growth strategy as needed.

Cost Management:
\xc2\xb7 Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).
\xc2\xb7 Utilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value.
\xc2\xb7 Provide feedback to peers (BUMs, WCMs, Functional Managers (FMs) on cost and cost trends.

Forecast Development and Accuracy:
\xc2\xb7 Prepare timely forecasts for the department.
\xc2\xb7 Compare forward forecast results to historical actual results for trend assessment and analysis.
\xc2\xb7 Anticipate future headcount requirements based on open Bays and projected business.

TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

\xc2\xb7 Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management.
\xc2\xb7 Assess the adequacy of data gathering methods utilized by the workcells.
\xc2\xb7 Assure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant.
\xc2\xb7 Prepare quotes for new and potential customers.
\xc2\xb7 Forecast future requirements and technical trends to drive gear suppliers in their technology roadmap.
\xc2\xb7 Verify reconfiguration requirements and monitor line moves.
\xc2\xb7 Lead equipment evaluations. Assure measurement criteria meet all Jabil site requirements worldwide.
\xc2\xb7 Explore and monitor new processes and procedures to support customer\xe2\x80\x99s expanding requirements on cutting edge technology and product densification.
\xc2\xb7 Assist Project and Design Engineers with Design for Manufacturability issues.
\xc2\xb7 Assure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant.
\xc2\xb7 Utilize Jabil\xe2\x80\x99s Advanced Engineering group to ensure useful support to Jabil South.
\xc2\xb7 Establish new measurement systems if/where possible.
\xc2\xb7 Offer new ideas and suggestions for improvement. Identify and implement new practices and processes that are \xe2\x80\x9cbest in field.\xe2\x80\x9d
\xc2\xb7 Drive the concept of an IE being an \xe2\x80\x9cIntegration Engineer\xe2\x80\x9d that ensures everything works smoothly to guarantee efficient and high quality processes that translate into high customer satisfaction and revenues for Jabil.
\xc2\xb7 Demonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet, and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority.
\xc2\xb7 Periodically \xe2\x80\x9cget down in the trenches\xe2\x80\x9d to rehabilitate troubled workcells or to help during product launch. Foster a \xe2\x80\x9cback to basics\xe2\x80\x9d mentality during these times. Lead by example; \xe2\x80\x9cwalk the talk.\xe2\x80\x9d
\xc2\xb7 Establish new measurement systems if/where possible.
\xc2\xb7 Exchange knowledge and information with other Jabil facilities to ensure best practices are shared throughout the Jabil organization.
\xc2\xb7 Ensure 100% adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e. Health and Safety, Quality).
\xc2\xb7 Ensure all sensitive and confidential information is handled appropriately.
\xc2\xb7 Drive Lean Manufacturing in a consistent, structured manner throughout the campus.
\xc2\xb7 Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
\xc2\xb7 Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Extensive knowledge of Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering philosophies and processes. Proven track record in communication, leadership, business analysis, process development, administration, and change management. Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree preferred with 3-5 years of related experience in the electronics manufacturing industry; 2-3 years of supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
