Celestica is looking for an Electrical Staff Engineer to join its Celestica Johor, OR team to design/manufacture industrial machinery. The Manager, Test Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for effectively managing the resources who accept, transfer, install, improve and maintain automatic test equipment and test programs that are used for product testing and design verification. They also may support the test development of the test equipment and processes to ensure robust and high quality test solutions and final products are realized.

Detailed Description

  • Managing resource allocations, schedules, and project budgets
  • Create training plans for the development of team members.
  • Understand cable harness manufacturing, drive system, sub-system, and interface requirements
  • Propose and lead feasibility studies and proof of concepts
  • Lead analysis, such as circuit, timing, thermal/cooling, DC/DC power design, and electrical loads.
  • Develop testing solutions and checklists for products
  • Lead electronics subsystem integration and system-level testing.
  • New product introduction, creating test procedures, documenting, and implementing processes for new products.
  • Guide the development of new features to continuously improve existing products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Supplier Engineering, Quality Engineering, supply chain organizations, etc., and lead system-level discussions, including impact on overall system performance.
  • Work with the customer to refine production specifications and execute their product vision.
  • Work with the design team & customer to resolve issues such as EOL components, manufacturability issues, and customer requests.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced global team environment and with other technical teams
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

The successful candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, in addition to the following:
  • Experience in Design of 208VAC, 120VAC, 480VAC industrial power systems
  • Experience in Design of 24VDC, 12VDC, 5VDC industrial control power systems
  • Familiarity of Lab VIEW, Lab Windows/CVI or C programming.
  • Specifying OEM components per application/specification (computers, switches, overcurrent protection, contactors, etc.)
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70, NFPA 79, UL 508A, IPC 620 preferred
  • Thermography Certified Level 1
  • Cable design and a background in connector selection (Dsub, Harting, CPC, etc.)
  • Solidworks Electrical preferred but not required
  • Autodesk AutoCAD
  • Microsoft Office
  • Engineering Change Management
  • Some MRP system exposure
  • Some QMS exposure
  • Design for Manufacturability, Design for Cost
Typical Experience
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in testing
