About the Department Novo Nordisk\xe2\x80\x99s Malaysia Market Access and Public Affairs team engages diverse stakeholders across Government and healthcare landscapes to forge solutions that drive patient access to innovative products. The Position The Director/Head of Market Access and Public Affairs (MAPA) will take the principal in developing and implementing affiliate-wide Market Access and Public Affairs strategies. Play a key role in formulating affiliate pricing strategies in close partnership with Regional Management. Develop evidence and relevant Market Access & Public Affairs (MAPA) recommendations to management for optimizing market access and shaping the local healthcare environment. Communications are also included in this role; therefore, the MAPA Director/Head will play an important role as the affiliate media and NGO liaison.
This position directly reports to Malaysia\'s Vice President and General Manager.
The nature and scope of main accountabilities include but are not limited to:
  • Market Access - Develop and monitor intelligence on the market access landscape, healthcare system changes, and general trends in the field as well as develop and execute an Affiliate wide MAPA Plan. Payor engagement, negotiation, objection handling, and process flow will also be key components of the role. Ultimately with the final intention of increasing patient access to our products.
  • Value Communication - To create tailored local value messages that resonate with local patients, payors, health care providers, and other resolutions and to ensure Novo Nordisk\xe2\x80\x99s product value proposition is well recognized and managed to market uptake.
  • Pricing and Contracting - Reflect a clear insight into the business impact and general Market Access implications by collaborating closely with key functions (Medical, Marketing, Sales) to create solid business/pricing cases for tenders, hospitals, and national MOH formulary listings. Monitor local pricing developments and ensure pricing SOP compliance.
  • Public Affairs - Implement short-term, medium-term, and long-term strategic plans for policy engagement relevant to the company\xe2\x80\x99s business. Foster and manage partnership opportunities relevant to the entire affiliate with key stakeholders.
  • Communications - Manage external communications, including media, NGO, and Government bodies to ensure all messages are correct and aligned with strategy.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or Higher in Pharmacy, Public Health, Science, Business Administration, or related fields
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Solid knowledge of the Malaysia healthcare landscape and stakeholders
  • Experience in government formulary listing & access processes
  • Experience in the Multinational pharmaceutical industry
  • Advocacy and stakeholder engagement
