Your Job:

The Marketing Manager role is a critical part of the Malaysia marketing organization responsible for the Huggies Baby & Child care portfolio. The MM will lead marketing strategy development and implementation of plans that strengthen the brand and drive topline and bottom-line P&L growth. The MM will develop cohesive and consumer-inspired strategy, plans and communication, working closely with and influencing cross-functional teams, including Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Product Development and Regional Marketing.

Role Overview & Primary Accountabilities:

Business Objectives:

Net Sales Value / Gross Margin / Operating Profit - Lead local initiatives to ensure delivery of total category NSV (Net Sales Value), %GM (Gross Margin) and OP (Operating Profit) targets.

Brand Share - Jointly deliver targeted category market share with the Sales function. Recommend monthly demand forecast. Develop category share targets.

Strategic Business Planning (SBP) & Annual Business Plan (AOP) - Manage the development and execution of the category Annual Business Pan (AOP) & annual OGSIM targets. Lead development of category 3-year Strategic Business Plan (SBP)

RGM (Revenue Growth Management) \xe2\x80\x93 Identify and implement RGM initiatives to maximize topline growth opportunity and Gross Margin improvement

Advertising & Consumer Promotion Budget - Develop and manage the annual country Consumer Advertising and Promotion Budget.

\xe2\x80\x8bConsumer Interface:

  • Brand Positioning - Provide local market insight to sector regarding country consumer fit with global/regional positioning.
  • Agency Relationship - Manage category relationship with Advertising (local), Promotions and Media agencies. Ensures periodic top-to-top meetings with partner agencies to keep abreast of developments in the market.
  • Advertising Development \xe2\x80\x93 Develop and execute campaigns (advertising and Brand Activation).
  • Media Strategy, Planning and Execution - Evaluate and approve category media strategy.
  • Consumer Insights- Provide input for regional consumer insights. Approve category research plan to address country consumer knowledge gaps.
  • Consumer Response - Review monthly consumer feedback data and take appropriate actions.
Products/Perceived Value:
  • Product Development (Centralized Manufacture) - Provide market-specific consumer insights as inputs into sector product plan.
  • Product Development (Country Specific Product Specs) - Endorse products to meet market needs. Lead innovation that improve consumer experience as well as deliver against cost saving targets
  • SKU Portfolio Management \xe2\x80\x93 Manage and approve SKU line-up, lead bi-annual review of SKU complexity and recommend rationalization actions in collaboration with sales and finance teams.
  • DPSM - Provide inputs into DPSM strategy to Trade Marketing. Recommend RSP based on price index strategy.
  • Consumer Promotions - Develop category Consumer Promotion programs that drive share growth and deliver while delivering against financial targets
Stakeholder Management:
  • Category lead for regional marketing stakeholder management
  • Cross-functional team in Malaysia (Sales, Trade Marketing, Finance, Mill)
Talent Management:
  • Develop employees to their full potential through Performance Management coaching, appropriate training and education, goal setting and career development.
  • Manage 2-3 direct reports
Essential Requirements:
  • Minimum of 8 years of marketing experience \xe2\x80\x93 with a strong understanding of the brand strategy development and implementation
  • Previous experience building, budgeting, and executing both long-term strategic and short-term operational marketing plans that have resulted in above average business growth and performance
  • Strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and solid commercial grounding of the Go-To-Market process.
  • Strong bias for action while being focused on delivering meaningful results with cross-functional partners.
  • Understanding of key business drivers and able to identify and capitalize on consumer trends and insights to develop breakthrough business-building strategies and programs to influence the plans across the lead markets
  • Experience in broad stakeholder management, cross-functional leadership and project management essential. The candidate must have demonstrated strengths in leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • University degree in marketing, management
