HOLDING COC MASTER UNLIMITED The Master\'s duties and responsibilities are organized to include, but not limited, into following general categories. The Master must refer to all specified references if mentioned for more details: a) The Master is responsible over the vessel and all her shipboard operations, including all personnel and cargo on board. He is responsible and answerable to the Company, the Flag State Authority and the Port State Authority. He shall execute his duties professionally, properly and truthfully in a safe and Seaman like manner in accordance to the Company\'s written procedures and instructions and within the confines of the Flag State, Port State and International rules & regulations. b) The Master is also obliged to conduct shipboard business in the Company\'s interest and at the same time without compromising the safety of the vessel, her crew and equipment and the environment. c) Ensuring the vessel is properly and sufficiently supplied and equipped before embarking on a voyage or an off-shore operation. d) Ensuring the vessel\'s machinery (main & auxiliary), navigation and communication equipment and other ship\'s gears are properly maintained functioning satisfactorily. He is to immediately inform the responsible person ashore for defects found. e) In-charge of navigation and the updating of all navigational charts and publications. He is to ensure that safe navigations are applied by the Officer of the Watch. f) Be responsible for communications. He may delegate communications duties to the Radio Officer (where available) or the Chief Officer. g) In-charge of the vessel\'s medical locker and first aid kits and ensure they are properly inventoried and replenished. Maintaining a Medical Register Book. h) Responsible over the catering department ensuring hygienic practices and cleanliness are applied by the cook. i) Carrying out regular (fortnightly) inspections of the accommodation spaces, toilets, galley, mess halls, garbage storage and food storage (include dry and cold stores) ensuring these spaces are kept clean and hygienic. Record the result of these inspections in the Official Log Book as required. j) Conduct an Safety & operational meetings on board at least once a month or any other times he deemed fit to brief the crew on some of the following items:- \xe2\x80\xa2 Relate to the crew any instructions, Memo or Circular from the Company. \xe2\x80\xa2 Safety matters. \xe2\x80\xa2 Safe working practices for special operations where necessary. \xe2\x80\xa2 Any other information the master deemed necessary k) The Master is also obliged to conduct shipboard business in the Company\'s interest and at the same time without compromising the safety of the vessel, her crew and equipment and the environment. 1) Ensuring the vessel is maintained in a sea-worthy and operational condition. l) Ensuring safe working practices on board and implementing Permit-To-Work system. Refer to Section 34 Permit To Work System m) Reporting vessel\'s movement to the Company as required. n) Reviewing the SMS and providing feedback to the DPA.
