Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist proficient in

Mastercam X7

to program, set up, and operate

CNC Milling and Lathe machines

equipped with

FANUC interface systems

. The role involves translating engineering drawings into efficient CNC programs, performing machine setup, and ensuring high-quality, accurate production.

Key Responsibilities

CNC Programming

Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs using

Mastercam X7

for milling and turning operations. Generate toolpaths for 2D, 2.5D, and basic 3D machining as required. Post-process programs compatible with

FANUC control systems

. Modify and troubleshoot CNC programs directly at the machine when necessary.

Machine Setup & Operation

Set up CNC

Milling and Lathe machines

, including tooling, fixtures, and work offsets. Perform machine zero setting, tool length offset, and cutter compensation. Conduct dry runs and first-off inspections to ensure program accuracy and safety. Operate machines during initial runs to verify dimensional accuracy and surface finish.

Quality & Process Control

Interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and machining tolerances. Measure finished parts using precision measuring tools (vernier, micrometer, height gauge, etc.). Ensure parts meet quality standards and customer specifications. Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time and scrap.

Maintenance & Safety

Perform basic CNC machine maintenance and daily checks. Follow workplace safety rules and proper machining practices. Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements & Qualifications

Technical Skills

Proven experience using

Mastercam X7

for CNC programming. Hands-on experience with

CNC Milling and CNC Lathe machines

. Strong knowledge of

FANUC control systems

(G-code & M-code). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Knowledge of cutting tools, materials, feeds, and speeds.

Education & Experience

Certificate / Diploma in Machining, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience. Minimum

2-5 years

experience as a CNC Programmer / Machinist (preferred).

Soft Skills

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills.

Preferred (Added Advantage)

Experience with multi-axis machining (3-axis / 4-axis). Experience machining steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and alloy materials. Familiarity with production and job-shop environments.
