Material Controller
Job Description
Project Site : Pasir Gudang, Johor
Able to start work immediately
Valid CIDB Green Card
Working day & hour : Monday - Saturday (8.00am - 5.00pm)
Receive and verify materials such as paints, primers, thinners, abrasives (e.g., garnet), masking materials, PPE, and equipment related to blasting and painting activities.
Ensure all materials meet project specifications, including batch numbers, shelf life, and quality requirements.
Maintain proper storage conditions (temperature, humidity, ventilation) for sensitive materials like coatings and chemicals as per manufacturer guidelines.
Monitor stock levels and ensure timely reordering to prevent material shortages or project delays.
Track daily usage of materials and prepare consumption reports for site management.
Coordinate with the QA/QC team to ensure material traceability, including coating system approvals and MSDS documentation.
Handle inventory records using manual logs or electronic systems (ERP, Excel, etc.).
Identify and report any material damages, expirations, or discrepancies.
Control issuance of materials to painters and blasters based on work progress and supervisor requests.
Ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with HSE standards.
Assist in stock audits and provide data for internal and client reporting
Requirements:
Diploma or technical qualification in Materials Management, Engineering, or a related field. 1-3 years of experience in material handling, preferably in blasting and painting projects. Knowledge of coating materials, abrasives (like garnet), thinners, and other consumables. Ability to read and understand material specifications and MSDS sheets. Basic computer skills - Excel and inventory tracking systems. Good communication and coordination skills. Must follow safety procedures and use proper PPE. Physically fit to work at site and handle materials. Experience with material storage and issuing at site level.
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 18 months
Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,700.00 per month
