Department Overview Astro Mechanical



Preparing concept designs of mechanical sub-system that meets customer requirements and expectations, reliability and robustness requirements, manufacturing processes and safety guidelines

Working knowledge of 3-D modeling, generating 2D drawings per mechanical drafting standards

Understanding of tolerances and effect on design (6sigma design methodology)

Setting up and maintaining bills of materials and releasing mechanical prints

Supporting prototype/pilot builds

Performing mechanical verification tests per products specifications and writing test reports

Compiling information for user manuals and/or instruction sheets

Basic Requirements

Basic Requirements

At least a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines

Minimum of 3 years working experience in related field.

Demonstrated successful experience in mechanical engineering design from
concept through production release with a focus on DFM.

Good in analytical & problem-solving skills.

Good knowledge of material properties (sheet metal and plastic).

Able to work as an individual as well as a good team player.

Able to communicate & present the conceptual ideas to the technical audiences.

Experience with 3D CAD and 2D drawing, specifically Pro/E Creo.

Experience with various manufacturing processes such as plastic injection
molding, metal stamping, plastic bonding, metal welding and PCBA &
Electromechanical assembly a plus.

Travel Requirements Under 10%
