About the Department

The Clinical Medical Regulatory and Quality (CMRQ) department is one of the key functions that enable the business strategy through the effective execution of functional goals, in the areas of Clinical Research, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Quality Assurance.

The position of Medical Advisor is to be in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, and report to the Director of Clinical Medical Regulatory and Quality.

The Position

The role of the Medical Advisor is to increase Novo Nordisk\'s management in Diabetes/ Obesity/ Rare Disease portfolios. As Medical Advisor for Malaysia, you will train various internal stakeholders in disease, therapy, and product areas as well as topic-specific customized training.

This is a people management role and involves managing a Medical Scientific Liaison. The job will mandate 25-30% travel across Malaysia.

Other role accountabilities are as follows, but is not limited to:

  • You will be accountable for medical affairs strategy development and advocacy building, as well as driving Medical Affairs preparation for launches.
  • You will establish strong functional collaboration with internal stakeholders from sales, marketing, clinical, market access, and even the regional office, to achieve collective business outcomes that benefit patients.
  • You will advise clinical operations to identify PDP and help select relevant clinical trials. You will also champion centralized Medical Affairs initiatives such as advisory boards, speaker training, and policy-shaping initiatives towards your portfolio.
  • You will also coordinate publications and manage collaboration with scientific associations. You will be accountable for developing and delivering presentations at local meetings and symposia and for providing high-quality medical education and training to external customers (clinicians and Healthcare Professionals). Input into promotion materials will also be required for ensuring compliance with local guidelines.
  • You will participate in and contribute effectively to the CMRQ team, as well as to cross-functional projects within Novo Nordisk along with the marketing & market access team and sales team. You will drive the non-interventional studies conducted by Novo Nordisk.
Qualifications
  • Medical Doctor\'s degree or Ph.D. in the relevant background is highly preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of pharma experience in Medical Affairs is a must
  • Experience with new product launches and people management will be a plus. Possess strong scientific and medical knowledge with a good business comprehension
  • Experiences in the areas of diabetes, obesity, hemophilia, or growth disorders will be a plus
  • Good ability to interpret and communicate complex scientific data as well as strategic thinking, communication skills, and stakeholder management skills are highly important
