  • Provide advice to the management on OH legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in implementation of occupational health program and developing & conducting Healthy Living Initiatives in the workplace.
  • Conduct employee health assessment (preemployment, pre-placement, job specific fitness-to-work medical examination, medical surveillance for chemicals and noise exposure, preventive health screening)
  • Collaborate with external panel Occupational Health Doctor, panel general practitioners and specialists in conducting employee health assessment.
  • Lead investigation in occupational/work-related diseases and poisoning.
  • Conduct fitness to return-to-work post-illness or injury.
  • Notify cases of occupational diseases and poisoning to DOSH and employer.
  • Maintain health assessment records of employees during employment and post termination.
  • Analyse and maintain statistics on employee health and disease pattern.
  • Provide periodic health education and advice to employees.
  • Assist in audit/evaluation of occupational health programs in the workplace.
  • Provide advice on worker\'s medical removal protection, occupational disease/injury management, rehabilitation, absence and disability management.
  • Lead in developing workplace medical emergency planning and management.
  • Assist in occupational health risk assessment and management.
  • Assist in developing workplace industrial hygiene program and providing quality assurance.
SPECIAL ASPECTS/MAJOR CHALLENGES OF THE JOB:
  • The challenges in keeping abreast with all current Occupational Safety and Health legislations, technical and safety standards, and involvement in new technical or engineering developments in the power industry.
  • The ability to work closely with all Region/Station/Divisional Managers and staff to gain trust and respect to ensure strong cooperation towards compliance with legal requirements and implementation of health programs.
  • Able to act swiftly and accurately in conducting accident investigation; willingness to travel on short notice; work round the clock to produce credible finding and reports.
QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree in Medicine with minimum of 3 years clinical experience post housemanship and exposure in occupational diseases diagnosis and treatment.
  • Preferably certified Occupational Health Doctor by Department of Occupational Safety and Health, Malaysia.
Preference will be given to internal candidate.
