Job Description

Mine Operations Superintendent responsible for leading a dedicated team for the operational performance of the mining operations through the planning, coordination, and implementation of all mine activities. Responsible for delivering the strategic plan, driving improvement and ensuring the team safely and efficiently executes mining plans. The role reports to the Mining Manager.
Provide leadership and guidance that ensures the execution of mining operations meets all safety, quality, environmental, regulatory, and operational standards requirements.
Responsible for the coordination of open pit mine operations, ensuring safe and productive work practices are executed.
Prepare, plan and schedule to achieve production targets in alignment with business expectations.
Initiate, lead and execute production improvement activities and strategies through frontline leadership and people management of development, production, and haulage streams.
Coach and mentor the Mining Supervisors and Operators for continuous improvement and personal development while delivering individual and team effective and efficient production targets through a cooperative approach with the workforce.
Lead a plan-driven organization while promoting a strong relationship with the technical services team to achieve production deliverables.
Evaluate safety and operational performance and drive change to achieve safety, cost, and volume targets through processes, equipment, and technology initiatives.
Set clear goals and expectations, provide feedback, and address employee performance issues in a timely manner.
Any other task(s) assigned by superior or management.

Skills and Experience:
Tertiary qualification in Mining or similar discipline or demonstrate industry experience with proven accomplishments.
Minimum 8 years of experience in mining industry with at least Three (3) years superintendent role of Mine Operations.
Strong background and experience in mining industry in South East Asia region, will be added advantage.
Strong working knowledge of operational mining activities and planning processes with demonstrated experience managing operational teams in a mining environment.
Safety-focused, proven incident investigations skills.
Proven leadership experience, high-level planning and prioritization.
Drive for continuous improvement and innovation.
High level of enthusiasm for the work with high-performance goals for self and team.
Commercial acumen relevant to the role and strong demonstrated abilities to lead and work effectively within culturally diverse workforce settings.
Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
Strategic and analytical thinking abilities.
