Job Description

Reporting to the General Manager - Mine Operations.
Lead and manage all mining functions inclusive of inclusive of the stockpile rehandle and the ROM feed for the Process plant whilst ensuring adherence to the highest standards of health, safety, technical, environmental and social performance.
Provide professional technical support to the site operations to ensure optimal mining activities.
Preparing, review and monthly updating all mine designs, mining plan and work programme, blasting plan and other tasks to meet the schedule and sequence requirements and monthly plan and report submission to the company management.
Preparing and communicate monthly, quarterly and 6 months schedules to all relevant personnel to foster awareness of schedules and directions for the mining operations.
Coordinate with the exploration and drilling/geology team to ensure grade control drilling is planned to align with and satisfy the mining schedule.
Ensuring that the operation delivers to plan in respect of production, mine development, low cost per ton and high mining production efficiency.
Maximising the return from the ore bodies within the mine.
Develop effective management reporting and follow issues up regularly with operations site management to ensure that the required targets are being achieved.
Build effective relationships with other operational sites and corporate functions to increase profitability across the entire value chain.
Contribute to team success by driving a continuous improvement culture, delegating levels of responsibility and modelling professional, organisational and team standards.
Coordinate the mining engineering, geology, survey and earthworks departments to maximise value to the business across the entire operation.
Other technical tasks including surveying mined areas, pegging out areas to be mined, all blasting tasks, total volumes and tonnages materials moved and monthly reporting and data reconciliation.
Any other task(s) assigned by superior or management.

Skills and Experience:
At least Ten (10) years of experience in the mining industry with tertiary qualification in mining or similar discipline.
Demonstrated ability to successfully lead high performing teams to deliver on executable mine plans and schedules.
Advanced technical knowledge of the key Technical Services (Planning, Scheduling, Design);.
Proficient in mine design & scheduling using software.
Demonstrated success as a Mining Manager driving mining optimization.
High levels of enthusiasm for the work with high performance goals for self and team.
Commercial acumen relevant to the role and strong demonstrated abilities to lead and work effectively within culturally diverse workforce settings; and
Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
