The Role Responsibilities

Strategy
Model Risk Framework and System is part of the broader Enterprise Risk Management organization within the Risk & Compliance Division. The function manages platforms that support Model Risk Framework & Systems and its governance. The function supports the business in the use of the platforms to manage their model portfolios and alignment to policy, standards and the model lifecycle. The Manager, Model Risk Framework and System, will support the team and colleagues in their role of helping manage and improve model risk framework & systems to internal/external stakeholders:

  • Supporting model risk framework & systems and its business users across all stages of the model risk lifecycle across all model families in the Group.
  • Delivering and maintaining platform processes, support and engagement content.
  • Ongoing review, tracking, testing and monitoring of the platform pipeline.
Business
  • Support the team and colleagues in their role of supporting and improving model risk framework & systems.
  • Support, maintain and monitor model platforms including Group Analytics Model Explorer (GAME), Group Model Inventory (GMI) and more.
  • Provide Business Analysis across model risk framework & systems and solution approaches.
  • Log, monitor and progress requests of the model risk framework & systems.
  • Provide timely and high-quality responses to internal/external queries and requests.
  • Perform BAU tasks across model risk framework & systems to support model management in an efficient manner.
  • Experienced at Excel/CSV transformation and manipulation.
  • Experienced at Jira Filtering, Searching and JQL.
  • Undertake critical projects and ad-hoc model delivery requests as they arise.
  • Liaise and follow up on platform deliverables with IT, Model Risk Policy & Governance, Model Development, Validation and Risk Managers for efficient and robust communication and implementation of model delivery initiatives.
  • Identify, summarize and provide priorities and inputs on key risk of model delivery platform initiatives.
  • Document meeting minutes, findings, recommendations, issue summary, and report papers / templates as well as PowerPoint slides with respect to model risk framework & systems management related topics.
  • Coordinate meetings, working group and approvals to meet business requirements.
  • Be able to clearly explain issues identified along with the risk and causes to stakeholders, using language designed to be understood by non-experts.
  • Comfortable with technical low code solution/configuration development.
  • Independent thinker with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Processes
  • Track and drive delivery of any action items relating to model risk framework & systems as well as internal / external queries.
  • Drive business enablement across model risk framework & systems - logging, liaising with relevant teams to ensure business value from model risk framework & systems.
  • Participate in relevant model platform activities and its user acceptance testing to ensure key features across model lifecycle are appropriately implemented not only within the direct system environment but also its relevant downstream environment.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement across the model risk framework & systems.
  • Carryout regular reviews of model delivery platform processes ensuring they are efficient, effective and relevant.
  • Ensure adherence to all internal and external regulations.
  • Embed Operational Risk monitoring as an integral part of the business process.
  • Accountable for helping establish and maintain frameworks to ensure Model Delivery Management processes are efficient, appropriate and compliant with all internal and external regulations.
People & Talent
  • Engage with IT, Model Risk Policy & Governance, Model Development, Validation, Risk Managers for efficient communication and implementation of model delivery platform deliverables, and facilitate issue resolution.
  • Build a transparent and collaborative culture in which incentives are based on support of Model Risk Framework and System with specific performance metrics on the Bank\'s values.
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Work in collaboration with Team and other required stakeholders as deem fit.
  • Encourage and promote an active training and learning environment to facilitate excellence in risk management, risk awareness, behaviours and accountability.
  • Be a good Team player and support the team in case of any ad-hoc requirements/excessive volumes etc.
Risk Management
  • Assist with ongoing improvements of model risk framework & systems
  • Assist with training and educating of the model risk framework & systems and workflows.
  • Monitor all model delivery risk issues. Where appropriate, direct remedial action and/or ensure escalation to model risk framework & systems.
  • Proactive in seeking regular assurance that areas of responsibility are performing to an acceptable risk and control standards as deem fit.
Governance
  • Provide oversight across fraud risk management team, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of regulatory and business conduct and compliance practices as defined by internal and external requirements. This includes compliance with local banking laws, other applicable laws and anti-money laundering regulations and guidelines
  • Embed the Group\xe2\x80\x99s values and code of conduct in the country fraud risk management team to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employee\xe2\x80\x99s forms part of the culture.
  • Accountable for satisfactory closure of issues / gaps arising from Internal Audits, peer reviews and regulatory reviews for the areas of work.
  • Adherence to confidentiality agreement always.
  • Adherence to Group Policy and Code of conduct always.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 7+ Years of experience in Risk background
  • Experience in Model Risk and Model life cycle
  • Experience in Excel and Jira
  • Working experience in model management / delivery platforms within banks or financial services.
  • Proven record across various model lifecycle steps.
  • Broad knowledge of model risk management, processes and associated risks and control requirements.
  • Understanding of regulatory guidance and requirements around model risk management.
  • Expert with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket.
  • Advanced experience with Data, SQL, Reporting platforms.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Advanced experience with collaboration software such as SharePoint, Confluence, Social Intranets.
  • Experience working and participating in Project environments - Waterfall and Agile.
  • Documentation of model delivery deliverables, issues and agree resolution plans.
  • Preparation of the meeting slides, mins, and papers.
  • Microsoft Office including PowerPoint skills are essential.
  • No-code/development skills are essential.
  • Ability to generate risk dashboard using data visualization tools i.e. Tableau.
  • Engage senior stakeholders effectively and maintain productive working relationships.
  • Expert in presenting difficult concepts in a clear and concise way.
