Operate mobile cranes safely and efficiently in accordance with load charts, lifting plans, and safety standards.
Position, set up, and inspect cranes before operation to ensure stability and safety.
Handle lifting, moving, and positioning of heavy materials, equipment, and structures as instructed.
Inspection & Maintenance
Conduct daily pre-operation checks on crane (brakes, tires, boom, cables, safety devices, etc.).
Report any malfunctions, defects, or required repairs to the supervisor immediately.
Ensure proper cleaning, lubrication, and routine maintenance of crane equipment.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety procedures, client regulations, and statutory requirements (DOSH, CIDB, JPJ, etc.).
Ensure correct rigging and load securing before lifting operations.
Coordinate with lifting supervisor, signalman, and riggers during lifting activities.
Stop operations immediately if unsafe conditions are observed.
Logistics & Transportation
Drive and transport the mobile crane from HQ to project sites when required.
Ensure compliance with road regulations and traffic safety rules during transportation.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain logbook of crane operations, inspections, and maintenance records.
Assist in preparing lifting permits and compliance documentation when required.
Submit reports on crane usage, breakdowns, and incidents.
Ad Hoc Duties
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Project Team or Management.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum SPM or equivalent.
Must possess a
valid Mobile Crane Operator Competency Certificate (DOSH / CIDB recognized).
Must hold a
valid Driving License E Full or H
to drive and transport the crane on public roads.
Minimum
2-3 years' experience
operating mobile cranes in construction, fabrication, or oil & gas projects.
Knowledge of crane load charts, lifting plans, and safe lifting procedures.
Ability to work with lifting supervisors, riggers, and signalmen effectively.
Physically fit and able to work under demanding site conditions.
Special Aspects / Major Challenges
Must maintain high focus and situational awareness to avoid accidents during lifting operations.
Driving heavy machinery (mobile crane) between HQ and sites requires advanced driving skills and strict adherence to JPJ road regulations.
Work may involve exposure to outdoor environments, extreme weather, and confined site spaces.
Requires flexibility to work overtime, shifts, weekends, and project-based assignments (including offshore if required).
Responsible for safety of all personnel and equipment during lifting activities--high accountability.
