Responsibilities

You must review and manage service requests, ensuring all required details are complete and executed accurately. You should manage incident investigations, perform root-cause analysis, and provide expert troubleshooting on MSSQL RDBMS issues. You are expected to evaluate and implement change requests (CRs), ensuring database enhancements and fixes align with system integrity and business requirements. You must proactively monitor, diagnose, and resolve performance issues across MSSQL databases. You should design, install, and maintain MSSQL standalone and clustered environments. You are expected to implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies to minimize downtime and data loss. You must troubleshoot and resolve database corruption and instance-related issues. You should advise developers on query tuning, schema design, and performance optimization. You are expected to perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities outside regular working hours when required. You must ensure database security, performance, and compliance with IT policies. You should plan and execute patching and upgrade projects. You are expected to be available for 24/7 on-call support for critical production systems. You must maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. You should perform routine database maintenance tasks, such as index rebuilding, query optimization, and database tuning. You are expected to collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient database use.

Job Requirement

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline. Minimum of 5 years' experience managing MSSQL databases. Proficiency in MSSQL administration, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of Oracle or other RDBMS is a plus. Strong understanding of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies. Familiarity with IT security compliance and best practices. Willingness to travel as needed.
