Overview
The Network (LAN) Engineer is responsible for maintaining the systems that allow organizations to function and communicate, both internally and externally, on a daily basis. Duty may include design, review and upgrading the company's communications infrastructure. This role reports to the Network Lead. The other key responsibilities are as detailed below:
Key Responsibilities:Establishing networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards; Design and implementation of new solutions and improving resilience of the current environment; Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimisation; Undertaking data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments, using information from multiple sources; Securing network system by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access; Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritising information and managing projects; Upgrading data network equipment to latest stable firmware releases; Configuration of routing and switching equipment; Capacity management and addressing audit review.

Jobholder requirements:Education/Qualification:Malaysian citizen Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Engineering or a related field
Experience & SkillsetMore than 3 years of experience in network administration Professional certification (e.g. CCNP, CCDP) Solid understanding of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS) Good to have the knowledge of coding languages for scripting (e.g Python, Perl)
