WE ARE LOOKING FOR Key responsibilities include perform underwriting assessment for new business applications including HNW (High Net Worth) cases, achieving underwriting KPIs through active case management. Position Objectives Cultivate customer focus culture among the team. Handle and manage reviews, appeals, complaints and risk assessment portfolio, specifically big premium cases. Maintain underwriting qualities and provide premier level service and support to relevant distribution channels. Roles and Responsibilities: Underwrite large sum assured applications (formal and preliminary) and communicate decision to intermediaries within agreed TAT with competitive underwriting decision and minimal requirement(s). Ensure cases are underwritten within the agreed TAT. Review complex appeal cases and coaching junior underwriters to underwrite large sum assured cases. Resolve enquiries and issues with channel management. Actively handle appeal cases by directly communicating to Life Planners, Financial Executives (FE) or Business Development Manager (BDM) or Director of Agency (DOA) on the rationale and explore alternatives. Review and identify area of process improvement operational efficiency within New Business department. Also, support Section Head to drive changes in process improvement and operational efficiency. Participate in the Quality Assurance review (audit of cases) where applicable. Involve in Product and Campaign launches where applicable. Instill a higher risk awareness culture and collaborate with second liner on roles and support needed. Provide underwriting-related support to business development projects when needed. Perform data or trend analysis when needed. Ensure continuous compliance of regulations/ procedures set for New Business. Perform monthly quality audit and provide coaching forquality improvement. Perform other responsibilities and duties that may be assigned from time to time by Head of Department\'s requirements. Minimum Job Requirements: Possess a tertiary qualification preferably in Medical Science or equivalent. 10 years working experience in the Life Insurance Industry, specifically in medical and financial underwriting, and legal aspect of life insurance. 3 years of experience in leading underwriting teams, operations, processes and business processing. Strong interpersonal & delegation skills. Able to share any ideas, suggestion or guidelines clearly with the team. Able to build good relationship & trust at all levels. Right attitude & ability to produce high quality work under pressure.
