DESIGNATION : Operation Assistant (Laundry)
RESPONSIBILITIES
ACCOUNTABILITY
Report to: Home Administrator
DUTY HOURS
45 work hours per week
Monday to Saturday: (7.30 am - 4.30pm)
1 hour Lunch Break and 30min Tea Break
Day Off : Wednesday
DUTIES
To handle the commercial washing machine with care. Switch off the powered pressure switch when not using immediately.
To soak all dirty clothings first thing in the morning for at least an hour before putting in the washing machine at 10 am. Check and remove any objects in the clothing's pockets.
Wash heavy bedsheets, etc first (cycle takes 30 min)
In the afternoon collect all drying clothes, folded and arrange accordingly
To do sewing, button torn clothing for the residents. Write names on the clothing if marker comes out
To sweep and mop laundry daily
1st and 15th - Wash Bedsheets
Monthly - Wash Blankets
Quartely - Wash Curtains
Monday, Wednesday, Friday - Wash Towels
Added Responsibilities
To assist the cook in preparation for breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
To serve residents at breakfast and lunch and also ensure all utensils and dining area are clean
To fill up hot water flasks for residents at 3.30pm
To be responsible for cleaning, wipe window, drainage and backyard recycle area outside kitchen area
Required to work in other sections if needed. (Shortage of staff)
Other responsibility required by the Home Administrator
