Operation cum Catalyst Manager

Main Duty

Operation cum Catalyst Manager is responsible to manage the operations department in day-to-day activities in performing projects and shutdown activities in compliance with quality, environment, safety and health policy, procedures and work instructions.

Scope of Work

  • Review the job schedule and cost breakdown, prepared by the Project Manager at the beginning of the job. Maintain a good relationship with the Clients\' Project Manager, seeking his/ her assistance in the scheduling of materials, equipment and other subcontractors.
  • Attend Pre-Work and Work meetings, taking notes on areas that may present a future problem
  • Set up the job office and equipment trailers and oversee that permits, labour notices, safety rules and regulations, and material are posted in a conspicuous place.
  • Maintain good relationships with Clients, inspectors, subcontractors, third parties and other key people connected with the Works. Attend all technical meetings for the purpose of discussing job progress and problem areas.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the plans and specifications for each project assigned. Keep the progress schedule current, review schedule status and job costs.
  • Maintain inventory control over tools and equipment, ascertaining that movable tools are returned to the tool room and all other equipment adequately secured. Complete equipment use reports each day.
  • Coordinate maintenance of heavy equipment on the Works and supervise effective utilization.
  • Ascertain those Engineer and Supervisor are well qualified and are efficiently carrying out duties assigned. Assist the Engineer/ Supervisor with any problems.
  • Ensure the Daily Report each day were prepared, mailing it to the office each night, or sending it to the office the following day.
  • Ensure that all Change Orders are properly executed and indicated on as-built plans.
  • Estimating percent completion of each item for monthly invoicing and of labour for each job cost report.
  • Control of Manpower resources under his/ her departments and review attendance as and when required
  • Properly schedule the work of the crews, equipment and subcontractors to achieve maximum production in the most efficient manner. To communicate the plan and sequence of activities to crews, subcontractors and material suppliers to effectively implement goals.
  • Make recommendations to Operations Manager on selection of resources taking all consideration on best price and meeting the requirement
  • Plan and work closely with Procurement Department on selection of vendors / suppliers to meet the project unit requirement.
  • Assist QHSE department on their project reviews. Maintain a high standard of quality control at all times.
  • Reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible to hire, terminate, and recommend for promotions all personnel under his jurisdiction to the Operations Manager.
  • Directly responsible to the Operations Manager for the proper discharge of his duties. He may delegate portions of his authority to other qualified personnel, but does not relinquish total responsibility.
  • Derive the most efficient method of completing a task with thorough knowledge of work techniques and to predict problems before they develop.
  • To assist in marketing and promoting all services rendered by the company
Bachelor\'s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years for Degree; or
  • Experience and interest in internal and external communications
  • Male/ Female
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect an ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
  • Very strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly resourceful team player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
