Position: Operations Director ( ) Industry: Manufacturing Location: Senai, Johor, Malaysia About the Company: A manufacturer of industrial connectors and cable harness connection solutions integrating design, manufacturing, sales, and service, focussing on customer needs, being proactive, and constantly develop new products to meet customers\' requirement. About the Role: This is a key position which needs an experienced and results-oriented Operations Director to lead and oversee all aspects of our business and operations requirements. He (She) will report to the Group COO and is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring high-quality products, meeting production targets, and achieving company profitability goals. Responsibilities: Leadership and Management Contribute to the development and execution of the company\'s overall business strategy. Lead and manage manufacturing teams, including production supervisors, engineers, quality control personnel, and maintenance technicians. Delegate tasks effectively and provide coaching and mentorship to team members. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including sales, engineering, purchasing, and finance departments. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory authorities. Formulate operational budgets, ensuring financial targets are met. Operations and Production Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Oversee all aspects of the production process, from raw material procurement to finished product delivery, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines. Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles and best practices to identify and eliminate waste in the production process. Manage production schedules, inventory levels, and material flow to ensure on-time delivery, minimize lead times and optimize supply chain efficiency. Implement and maintain effective preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, equipment upgrades, and automation. Analyze production data and identify areas for cost reduction and quality improvement. Quality System Establish and maintain a robust quality management system (QMS) to ensure consistent product quality. Develop and implement quality control procedures and inspections throughout the production process. Track and analyze quality metrics and trends, identifying and addressing any potential quality issues. Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards and customer specifications. Financial Performance Develop and manage the manufacturing department budget, ensuring adherence to financial targets. Monitor and control production costs, identifying and implementing cost-reduction initiatives. Contribute to the company\'s overall financial planning and forecasting. Compliance and Safety Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and environmental guidelines. Implement and maintain a safe working environment for all employees. Investigate and address any safety incidents or concerns promptly. Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in a leadership role within the manufacturing industry (preferably knowledge in connector and cable harness). Proven track record of success in achieving operational excellence, cost reduction, and quality improvement in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and best practices. Experience with wire cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and other cable harness assembly processes is a plus. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to correspond (verbal and written) in both English and Chinese and for those candidates who submit their CV in both languages have definite advantage.
