For the Malaysian branch of an important Italian Food production company, we are looking for a:

OPERATIONS MANAGER - MALAYSIA (MG.5902.OM)

Reporting to the General Manager, the selected candidate will be in charge for the Malaysian plant (about 100 employees \xe2\x80\x93 production of finished and semi-finished products).

The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of departmental and organizational operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies.

Main tasks:

• Develop relationships with external suppliers to ensure the best reputation within the industry
• Work closely with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure correct stock levels are in place, supporting the operations team
• Ensure strict compliance with all relevant health and safety laws and requirements. Partecipate in the food safety team and assist other functions in managing health and safety and food hygiene, ensuring strict compliance with all legislation
• Promoting a training culture within the Food and Beverage team to ensure succession planning
• Product cost management and support with new product costing models. Review product range to ensure all key quality standards are maintained
• Liaise with the Sales, Marketing and QA/QC Manager team to collect and respond to all customer correspondence, ensuring it is communicated to the Food and Beverage team
• Maintaining invoices and journals, managing and tracking expenses associated with manufacturing, maintaining and repairing equipment, managing the activity log and assisting in budgeting each year for the department
• Implementation of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to execute, supervise and monitor manufacturing operations
• Create and operate within efficient labor budgets for each year, tracking labor spending and providing input on projects and capital initiatives
• Assistance in the planning and implementation of new products and process lines
• Review product delivery to ensure KPIs are met and close any gaps with suppliers

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree/Master Degree in Food Science/Food technology/Chemist/ Chemical/engineering
• Adaptability, problem-solving, and Strong leadership skills. Strategic and Innovator spirit.
• Experience in the Food Industry
• Experience in managing teams (preferably cross-functional teams)
• Demonstrated understanding of technology (i.e. complexities of products, machinery, and costs)
• Good financial analysis and resource allocation skills; experience developing productivity pipeline is preferred
• Fluent in English and Fluent Italian
• Availability to relocate/live in Malaysia for a long-term project
