Job OverviewThe Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations in the Malaysia plant. This position involves working with the Management team on all aspects of the operation to maintain and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the company's employees and processes.The Operations Manager will also need to work on mapping out strategies, enhancing performance, acquiring resources and ensuring compliance to local legal regulations.Deliverables: A weekly report and a monthly meeting will be required to provide necessary updates and ensure KPIs are met.Primary Job Dutiesxc2xb7 Set-up, oversees and manage the day-to-day operations of all local business functions.xc2xb7 Develop all operational processes and policies to ensure compliance and effectiveness.xc2xb7 Review the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA report) and implement the following:i. Workplace Health & Safety including first aidii. Risk management (Emergency Response Plan)iii. Safety drillsiv. Spillage controlxc2xb7 Security management of the factoryxc2xb7 Manpower planningxc2xb7 Prepare a financial forecast budgeting projection on the operational expenditure of the plantxc2xb7 To liaise with external consultants on the licensing application, manage and maintain the licenses including local governmental relationships that is required for the company's operation.xc2xb7 Attend to local authorities inspection (Eg: DOE, DOSH, BOMBA and etc.)xc2xb7 Drive initiative to develop Malaysias production and PGM / precious metals sampling capabilitiesxc2xb7 Resolve all operational issues together with the departments involved.xc2xb7 To work with Business Development team on sourcing for new business opportunitiesBuild up the Malaysia team operations which includes the following:i. Prepare a recruitment plan, oversee the hiring process, mentor, coach and manage employees according to existing Company's policy.ii. Oversee and establish machinery maintenance which involves regular servicing of equipment, routine checks, repair work and replacement of worn or non-functional parts.iii. Ensure that we have sufficient spare critical parts for the equipment / machineries in the factory.iv. Work together with the Laboratory team on setting up the gold and silver recovery system.v. To explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Job Requirementsxc2xb7 Bachelors Degree in any discipline.xc2xb7 Minimum 3 years of working experience in manufacturing industry.xc2xb7 Proficient in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint xc2xb7 Experience in regulatory compliance with DOSH, DOE and etc.xc2xb7 Experience in safety management in terms of workplace and operation.xc2xb7 Leadership & communication skill.xc2xb7 Fast learner, attentive to detailsxc2xb7 Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.xc2xb7 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.xc2xb7 Able to work effectively both independently and in a team.xc2xb7 Willing to travel (75%) domestically and internationally when required. xc2xb7 Chinese speaking to work with Chinese counterparts and engineering team.xc2xb7 Working Location: Pekan Nenas, Pontian, Johor
