Based in Malaysia, this is a great opportunity for talents who are interested in growing their career as a HR Professional in a rapidly scaling startup. You will work alongside talented colleagues and will gain first-hand experience in managing payroll and HR operations for Singapore and several other markets (which may include Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Australia, South Korea or Germany.)

Reporting to the Total Rewards Lead, this position will deliver great customer service to internal stakeholders and partners by focusing on global governance of HR operations across all markets that ShopBack operates in, to ensure consistent practices across the organization and compliance with local labour regulations, where applicable. This position must be able to manage employee life-cycle events end-to-end and fully transact payroll in an efficient and seamless manner in every market we operate in.

The ideal candidate will have a continuous growth mindset and will demonstrate curiosity, collaboration and the ability to deal with ambiguity especially in a start-up environment. You are passionate about providing excellent stakeholder support and have experience in standardising, simplifying and automating processes using technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Service Delivery:
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for Singapore and other countries (as assigned) simultaneously, through ShopBack\'s outsourced payroll vendor, ensuring 100% accuracy and timely payments.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to reconcile payroll data and resolve discrepancies, as well as to manage annual audits.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee enquiries and provide timely and accurate responses.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices.
  • Manage payroll-related vendors.
  • HR Operations:
  • Administer end-to-end employee lifecycle processes and update records in HRIS.e.g. issuance of offer letters, on-boarding of new employees, contract management, employee movements, salary changes, off-boarding, etc.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure that all pre-hire paperwork is completed before deadlines, including employment pass/work permit applications and renewals.
  • Manage submission of statutory reports/claims and tasks related to statutory compliance.
  • Work closely with local and regional stakeholders to develop and streamline HR operations.
  • Contribute towards implementation of HR projects e.g. HR policies documentation, processes automation and implementation/roll-out of new HR systems or initiatives.
  • Support/own projects and activities to drive engagement and culture.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or a related discipline.
  • At least 5-8 years of relevant experience in Payroll and HR Operations.
  • Familiar with employment regulations and payroll best practices in Singapore. Good understanding of legislation in the other markets that ShopBack operates in is a plus.
  • Comfortable with working with ambiguity and able to deliver results with little supervision in a hyper-growth start-up environment
  • Strong work ethics, ability to handle confidential information professionally and with integrity.
  • Proficient in MS-Office and G-Suite applications.
  • Good team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous, strong analytical thinking, organising and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and be nimble with a strong \xe2\x80\x9ccan-do\xe2\x80\x9d attitude.
  • Relevant work or internship experience in a start-up environment will be favourably considered.
