Job Description


JOB DESCRIPTION : AMBULANCE MEDICAL AIDE (AMA) Job Accountability : This position requires the Ambulance Medical Aide (AMA) to be responsible for the effective manning of the MRCS ambulance service when deployed by the Emergency Service Officer to render assistance during emergencies involving:

  • Medical cases
  • Road accidents
  • Emergency cases in factory, office premise and homes
  • Maternity
  • Disasters (Landslides, Flood, Fire, etc.)
  • Officer EMERGENCY classified cases
MAIN RESPONSIBILITY
  • To be at the workplace at least 15 minutes before the beginning of every Shift. All AMAs are required to wear the Ambulance Service uniform provided by MRCS.
  • To do physical check of the ambulance
  • To response immediately upon receiving emergency call and to reach the location within the fastest time without offending any Road Safety rules which may cause risk to own self or patient.
  • To be able to perform CPR, First Aid and others related to responding to medical emergencies.
  • To be with the ambulance in any emergency cases, especially heart related cases, minor or major accident, and to manage patient or casualties based on the stated First Aid regulation.
  • Responsible towards the safety of the ambulance and all the equipment such as First Aid Kits, and to ensure all First Aid equipment inside the ambulance are always kept clean and in a good condition as stated in the Handing Over and Receive Duty Form.
  • To ensure for all emergency cases, the Ambulance Movement Record (AMR) prepared by the ESO will be taken together with when responding to calls.
  • Every ambulance vehicle moving out of the NHQ compound should be recorded in the Vehicle Log Book.
  • To ensure every ambulance has sufficient fuel and it should not be less than half (1/2) of the fuel tank. AMAs are to follow the regulation which has been stated by MRC.
  • To report to the Emergency Service Officer (ESO) on duty if the ambulance is involved in any accident or break down during transporting patient. In such cases AMAs are required to prepare report on the accident/technical problem/and to lodge police report regarding the accident within 24 hours.
  • All AMAs are required to attend to duties even during their OFF DAY to do Standby Duty or Transfer Patient as and when instructed by the Director of Operations from time to time
Job Requirements :
  • Must possess at least SPM with Advance First Aide & CPR certificate, or Diploma in Medical Science or equivalent from any University or College
  • At least 2 year (s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Junior Executives specializing in Healthcare \xe2\x80\x93 Medical Support & Assistant or equivalent.
  • Contract basis
This position also to be filled in KL, Penang, Kedah and Melaka. Job Types: Full-time, Contract
