Industrial Engineers plan plant, production facilities, and equipment layouts, determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow, and establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. Develops metrics to measure equipment and factory capacity and output, and to identify equipment and process flow bottlenecks. May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may plan and schedule training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations. Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: - Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline such as Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field with 5 years of working experience. - Demonstrated capabilities and knowledge in operations research including theory of constraints, supply chain management factory physics, and project/program management. - Good understanding of data structures/query fundamentals, experience in scripting languages and data analytical tools (for example Excel VBA, JMP, or SQL Pathfinder) - Ability to work effectively as an individual with minimal direction, and as part of a larger team - Strategic and tactical thinker who could influence the business process and factory while providing guidance to meet the best resolutions. - Ability to communicate strategic and tactical concepts across a wide range of employees, including engineering team, operational technicians and management team - Must be able to negotiate and resolve conflicts within all levels of the organization to a win/win solution Preferred qualifications: - Data extraction and analysis experience with tools such as R, Python, SQL, C, or C++ desired. - Optimization and Simulation skills. - Financial/cost/ROI analysis. - Strong statistics knowledge and application. - Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies and applications.
