Global Finance Operations (GFO) was formed in Q1 2016 through the merger of Global Finance Services and Cash Generation. GFO is at the heart of the Finance function - accountable to the AstraZeneca (AZ) Group for the design and delivery of high quality, simple to operate transactional finance processes that enable our customers to focus on AZ\xe2\x80\x99s strategic priorities.

Our processes cover record to report, purchase to pay, contract to cash and data management and we drive AZ\xe2\x80\x99s cash focus through disciplined management of supplier and customer payment terms and practices. GFO provides P2P/T&E process helpdesk services to internal AZ and external end users, including training support to internal AZ users. Plans are in place to extend the scope and internal customer coverage during 2016/2017.

GFO operates globally through a combination of in-house captive and offshored business process outsourcing (BPO). The BPO element has been provided in partnership with our service provider partner Genpact since 2008. At the end of 2015, GFO comprised of approximately 680 roles in total (approximately 450 in the BPO).

The role holder reports to the Credit Risk Senior Team Lead and the overall objective of this role is to help coordinate the management of portfolio exposure to the credit risk team, finance community, senior management, the markets and counterparties globally. The role reviews both internal & external components of the credit risk activities and to make changes to strategy, policy and operation where required. The role holder is also responsible for conducting some credit risk analytical reviews. We have a global portfolio of about 50,000 customers who operate throughout the medical and pharmaceutical supply chain.

The successful applicant will monitor performance and ensure that remediation plans are formulated, agreed and efficiently executed where necessary. Additionally, they will support and collaborate with colleagues to ensure the optimal performance is achieved and to maintain a strong controls environment. The ideal candidate will have had experience in portfolio credit risk management, credit transactions and compliance.

The role is part of a global Order To Cash (\xe2\x80\x9cO2C\xe2\x80\x9d) team which sits within a Global Finance Services (\xe2\x80\x9cGFS\xe2\x80\x9d) function which in turn is within AstraZeneca\xe2\x80\x99s Global Business Services (\xe2\x80\x9cGBS\xe2\x80\x9d) function. The O2C team has two key elements, the design team with ownership for the global processes and the operational delivery element. This role is in the latter team but we work together as one team.

The O2C delivery team has representation in Cambridge (UK), Warsaw (Poland), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and San Jose (Costa Rica). We are supported by Genpact operating from Delhi (India), Cluj (Romania), Lublin (Poland) and Guatemala City (Guatemala).

Key Accountabilities

  • Monitor internal reports for adherence to compliance, portfolio updates & workflow requirements
  • Conduct regular and ad-hoc portfolio reviews, analysis of key portfolio trends and associated risk metrics.
  • Monitor exposure and risk levels by region, country, product, segments, and legal entity.
  • Review risk levels for the entire credit spectrum across all markets and consider what portfolio credit limits should apply.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders on portfolio reviews.
  • Monitor country, geopolitical and macro-economic developments and assess the impact on portfolio.
  • Monitor FX movements in certain markets to ensure sales volume and credit risk approvals are followed as per authorisation.
  • Review blocked order statistics and adjust portfolio/ customer ratings to ensure correct optimisation.
  • Review and challenge (as appropriate) internal credit ratings
  • Prepare risk management presentations for markets that include analytics on expected portfolio performance and areas of potential risk and/or opportunity
  • Assist in testing, and optimising credit policies, assist in the implementation of those policies, processes, and other related initiatives
  • Support compliance and internal audit activities around controls.
  • Collaborate with colleagues globally to facilitate trade whilst managing risk
  • Provide support with system implementations & upgrades
  • Manage account status, credit alerts, and agree joint plan with relevant stakeholders
  • Ensuring all credit decisions are accurately reflected in appropriate systems to maintain robust operational control
  • Interface with external partners and or customers.
  • Ability to design & run reports.
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Degree in business, accounting and finance
  • Team management experience
  • SME portfolio management
  • Experience of working in a shared service Centre across a global /large organisation will be an added advantage
  • Understanding of letters of credit, bank guarantees and corporate guarantees
  • To have a comprehensive knowledge of financial accounting i.e., balance sheet, income statements and cash flow statements and any other relevant information to make decisions independent of credit reference agency scores.
  • Significant experience in B2B credit risk management as well as corporate accounts.
  • Have a strong understanding of B2B credit risk principles
  • An understanding of and the ability to communicate credit issues to all levels of the organisation.
  • Knowledge and experience of SAP
  • Understanding of Credit reference & Credit Risk Agency principles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with strong skills in Excel & Power BI.
  • Have strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Be self-motivated, proactive, and work quickly and independently with little direct supervision
