PR Specialist (Malaysia)

As a PR Specialist for one of the leading entertainment clients on a mission to entertain the world, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be supporting the client\xe2\x80\x99s PR team to constantly evolve the local market\xe2\x80\x99s communications and publicity strategy, including influencer engagement. This role is suited for someone who is able to adapt and grow in a fast-paced environment.

Role:

  • Supporting the PR (Publicity and Communications) team across the editorial, creative, event, media relations and influencers engagements to develop impactful campaigns to drive conversations across all channels
  • Drafting and executing of PR strategies for integrated communications and marketing campaigns
  • Work with tastemakers and relevant communities to extend the reach of local, regional, or global campaigns as and when required by the client.
  • Support the client when working with third-party agencies, production partners or digital and social support teams.
  • Cultivating and nurturing strong relationships with major and emerging media outlets and influencers across entertainment, business and trade beats in order to craft stories that stand out and support communications and publicity initiatives
  • Providing communications guidance and counsel for issues or crisis
You:
  • Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Mass Communications, Public Relations or similar
  • 4+ years of experience across PR, publicity, brand, entertainment, media and consumer communication
  • Ideally with experience in both in-house and agency environment
  • Strong relationships with media in Malaysia with a solid understanding and appreciation of the local creative industries
  • Able to build and execute communication strategy and planning, prioritise and manage multiple assignments, deadlines and high-volume, detailed work within a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and hyper-organised across multiple programmes and projects running at the same time while managing relationships within a matrix organisation and multiple external contacts.
  • Stellar writing, editing, and marketing communications and story-telling skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communications and presentations skills and - ideally - fluent in Bahasa Melayu due to the nature of the projects. Understanding of another local Malaysian language is also an added advantage for this role.
