Principal Engineer - Network Architecture and Planning Job Summary This is a key position to develop and manage IP Exchange (IPX) traffic strategy, to deliver a high performance, resilient and cost-effective architecture / topology. Interface towards IPTX providers, IX data centres (AIMS, Equinix etc.), as well as content partners (for hosted CDN deployment, direct peering) \xe2\x80\x93 establishing and managing the business relationship. Working closely with the engineering team and marketing team to manage IPX traffic capacity \xe2\x80\x93 for new or capacity upgrade for hosted CDN, direct peering and/or IPTX. Duties & Responsibilities Custodian of mid-term network strategy, architecture for IPX setup. Track, manage IPX capacity requirement and traffic projection; plan and implement capacity upgrade, and new content partner introduction. Control and improve IPX delivery cost and user data experience; with localization of contents (introduction of new content partner via CDN or direct peering), and minimizing IPTX traffic ratio. Represent in IPX related industry forums; establish and manages good business relationship with all major content partners, IX data centers providers, and IPTX providers. Lead RFP / RFQ for IPX projects, e.g. hosted CDN deployment, new / upgrade of direct peering, IPTX provider award. Support the yearly budget planning (AOP) for IPX \xe2\x80\x93 Capex and Opex. Job Requirement 1. Education/ What people Know: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Telecommunications Engineering 2. Experience/ What people Have Done: Min 7 years working experience in IPX or related roles. Project experience in deployment of CDN, direct peering and IPTX. Knowledge and experience in industry best practices for IPX. Experience in budget / AOP planning, and exposure of network security is a plus point. 3. Competencies/ What people Can Do: Strong technical knowledge in IPX architecture and topology design. Good IP engineering design and implementation knowledge. Strong acumen of technical and business. 4. Personal Attributes/ Who people Are: Good critical thinking and attentive to details.
