Role Overview:



We are seeking a seasoned Process Control & Modelling Engineer with 7-8 years of experience in the oil & gas sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial automation, process modelling, and control systems, with a proven track record of delivering high-impact solutions in upstream, midstream, or downstream operations. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes, enhance asset performance, and support digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:



Lead the development, deployment, and optimization of process control strategies across oil & gas production and refining assets. Build and maintain dynamic process models using simulation tools to support operational decision-making, troubleshooting, and predictive maintenance. Collaborate with operations, instrumentation, and IT teams to integrate control systems (DCS/PLC/SCADA) with enterprise applications and data platforms. Implement Advanced Process Control (APC) and Model Predictive Control (MPC) solutions to improve throughput, energy efficiency, and product quality. Support digital twin initiatives and contribute to the development of smart manufacturing capabilities. Conduct root cause analysis, process hazard analysis (PHA), and risk assessments to ensure safe and reliable operations. Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISA-95, ISA-88, and IEC 62443, and Shell's internal OT security protocols. Participate in technology evaluations and vendor assessments to identify best-fit solutions for control and modelling applications. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including functional specifications, architecture diagrams, and validation protocols. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to capability building within the engineering team.

Required Qualifications:



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. Experience in process control, modelling, or manufacturing applications within the oil & gas industry. Proficiency in tools such as Aspen DMC, ROMeo, Honeywell UniSim or AVEVA Process Simulation. Hands-on experience with DCS/PLC systems (e.g., Honeywell, Emerson, Yokogawa, ABB) and SCADA/HMI platforms. Strong understanding of process safety, alarm management, and cybersecurity in OT environments. Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.

Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
